Just saw this thread and one thing comes to mind. the word hate. whether it be skin color, size, sexual preference, religion, anything that we believe colors our association black.
i see a lot of hate directed at one person and who now can be likened to a dog with tail in between his legs. People callously bashed and trashed him because of what he thinks is a great idea and his expression of it. the real problem is not of what he said, but of this people's inate fear of "conversion" because as hard as they may try to cover it with rantings, an unbiased view sees this without much ado.

Now all pedron can do is be on red alert and be on the defensive. what you have done is you have killed a spirit, a spirit that could have grown, florished in other aspects of life. don't u know that all those harsh words filled with so much venom can do damage to ones psyche and ego? I pray you, stop it. if you can't love, don't destroy. there is more to life than sex in all its variables. what you have done is kilL Marvin Gaye all over again, a real black star,

First of all, thank you for your very kind words!  But, please forgive me for asking you to explain some of yours!   As you see, I live in the US and am thus unfamiliar with some words that I see here on nairaland.com.  With that said, might I please ask the meanings of oyibo and helele?

Also, allow me to clarify the "bell" theory.  I use that analogy for purposes of explaining the idea of distribution, although the actuality reflects something less than a true bell shape.  I still think it's a good way to explain it, because it's rather easily understood.  Needless to say, the predominant orientation in this case is heterosexuality.  Clearly, this must be the case so as to assure the continuation of the species.  And, this in no way casts aspersions on homosexuality, bisexuality or asexuality.  These latter manifestations of orientation are parts of the whole, so to speak.  Indeed, without any one of them, the balance of all the others would have to change. 

Please allow me to ask, Qby, that you continue to post on whatever thread strikes you to do so!  More of your positive attitude and love are so much needed not only here, but in the world in general!  Bless you for spreading that!

Incidentally, just so you'll know, my post suggested that sex is what you are not what you do.   

Being a faggot is bad enough, but whats with the ghey people trying to convert straight folks? It  is just not right for a guy to have sex with another guy. I have tried my best to understand gay people and I just don't think its sane for a man not to love women, I mean their manners, their curves, sensual touch and yes, they have a vagina.
I also don't get the Idea of people making comparisms between homosexuality and being black. We are a race of people and faggots are a bunch of queer assholes (no pun intended).

Ah, the debate still lingers, I see!

Allow me to raise a question, and this is a question that those who take a stand on both sides of this issue can answer:

If you are homosexual, do you think that those who oppose homosexuality do so because they feel that it is wrong to engage in homosexual behaviours OR that they would be uncomfortable being "labeled" as homosexual?   

If you are not homosexual, do you find homosexuality wrong because of what it is or what it represents to you?  Please explain what you feel that homosexuality is and/or what it represents to you.

Clearly, as you read the postings in this thread, many straight people have experimented with (i.e., engaged in, on occasion) homosexual behaviours.  Doing so has not changed their orientation.  Likewise, many homosexuals have engaged in so-called "straight" behaviours and, again, doing so has not changed their orientations.  Indeed, looking beyond the anecdotal stories in this thread, one can find sources (Kinsey, Masters & Johnson et al) which support this. 

Could it be that our very definitions of "homosexual," "heterosexual," "bisexual" nad even "asexual" are due for reconsideration?
