The Republic of Dassa, named after the Yoruba kingdom in present day Benin, will constitute the Sates of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Ilorin, Edo, Western parts of Delta (Sepella and Warri) and Niger State.
The state will be a unitary republic that would be controlled by a parliament on the national level. The armed forces will be controlled by a minister of defense that is nominated by the Prime minister and approved by a 3/5 majority vote in Parliament. The Prime minister has legal right to suspend/permanently remove the minister of defense. Any violation of the constituitional role of the Minister of Defense calls for an immediate vote by the national assembly for his replacement, and in the case that such a vote is not possible in the immediate future, a temporary decentralization of power will be issue to regional commanders that are stationed outside of their region of origin.
Elections in the country will be held every 5 years to fill the 500 seats in the national assembly. Seat allocations will be determined by a percentage of votes. So, if the Dassa socialist party gets 20 percent of the votes, they are then alloted 100 seats in the Parliament that they are free to fill from members within their party rank. This way, all ideologies, ranging from socialist to libertarians can be well represented. Also, votings becomes more about politicals ideas as opposed to personality cults that is currently plaguing systems of democracy like Nigeria.
On the State level, a State Assembly of 100 will be elected and they will elect ministers that will run the affairs of the State. There is no governor on State level, or President in the national level. All executive decisions will be carried out by Parliament nominations on the national level, and State assembly nominations on State level.
All States are required to fund their own activities and pay a 30 percent tax to the nations capital. There will be no sharing of national resources or wealth in the form of monthly allocation like is currently being practiced in Nigeria. So, while the West Delta state might be overflowing with oil money, it is up to non-oil producing States to find ways to generate revenue.
The national language will be created out of present day Yoruba, Edo, Nupe, Ishekiri, Isoko, Urhobo and a little bit of Igbo to appease the eastern Immigrants that occupy Dassa territories.
Lastly, the flag will not have any Green, white, green or any other combination of those mentioned colors.
