Faith Turned to SightSeptember 4, 2009 "That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love." (1 Peter 1:7-8) As the resurrected Christ ascended into heaven, He promised to return and end this present age, with all its trials and troubles. "Surely I come quickly" (Revelation 22:20), He said. The saints will eternally thereafter enjoy the presence of their Lord. Since "we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7) in this life, with much we don’t yet understand, the prayer of each faithful saint has mirrored John’s response to the Lord’s promise, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22:20). The fourth and climactic verse of "It Is Well with My Soul" focuses on this coming event. And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll: The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend, Even so--it is well with my soul. For centuries, faithful men and women have gazed upward, desiring to see "the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together" (Revelation 6:14) at His return. Many have died in faith, and they now have fuller understanding, but they await the final resurrection. As the great day draws nearer, we should be all the more expectant. This hope of the Christian provides great comfort while we wait. But on that day, "the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). Until then, "it is well with my soul." JDM

When one of My children faithfully suffers for righteousness' sake [that is, continue to abide in My Love towards all those who cross their path - even though that Love may not be returned] they allow My Spirit [Who is the Spirit of Love] to build within them a continually greater capacity for the "force of righteousness" to flow through them. Is it not written, "In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death" [no death can stand]" [Proverbs 12:28]? Truly I say to you, all those who have allowed Me to continually enlarge their heart will be literally possessed [consumed] by My Spirit [Who is also the Spirit of Righteousness] [1 Corinthians 1:30] in these days, and they shall be "battering rams" in [and for] My Kingdom - and, again, truly I say to you, NO death or any of its attributes [fear, unrighteousness, darkness etc.] shall be able to stand in their path in this most glorious hour.

It been a long time Hasn’t it? Since you really lifted your hands And your weary heart In true worship, unashamed
When will the days emerge again? That your soul will be ablaze Filled with desire for the divine When would you return? To chasing the God of your dreams
You look back and wonder How far you’ve gone Without a word from Him You cannot imagine How could cold you’ve grown
Wouldn’t you come back home To passion and holy fire Knees bowed in consecration Tears streaming down your cheeks You enter the Holiest place of all
In the depths of your being You really know That these things don’t satisfy Though life seems to be taking shape But here you are, lost and tired
Church is not the issue Your heart is, Only remember the days Of closed eyes, gentle whispers And your favorite Bible
Wouldn’t return to where you belong Though beaten and battered in life’s battle You are still God’s soldier And your Captain’s watching and waiting For you, with arms outstretched! Can’t you hear the song? The Saviour is singing Can’t you see the vision? Of better things, and better times You were made for more than this
Stand up, dear one, stand up And tell your heart, its time Its time to come home And gather up in the laps Of your Father and your Friend
Don’t say you are alright Or everything would be fine You were born for God, and His worship For when the time’s curtain closes Real life will finally begin

Matt. 6:19-24 Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves Do not break through and steal; For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, Your entire body will be full of light. But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness! No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). [AMP]
The world is collapsing. You see it and feel it all around you – even in the stores you went into today to shop. A massive implosion* is taking place. Things will soon spiral totally out of control as all of man’s plans and solutions will fail. I alone am to be worshipped. The idol of mammon is toppling. It will succumb with a mighty crash. It will in some ways be like “the shot heard round the world”**. Only this time it won’t take the news a long time to travel. Instead the spread of “bad news” and the virus of fear will spread instantaneously on the internet. You continue to keep your eyes on ME. Chase after ME. Seek ME. Worship ME. Spend time with ME. Don’t be overwhelmed by all the bad news on the TV and internet, but seek ME – for I am your bridegroom and a most desirable husband. All is going perfectly according to MY Plans. You may rest assured that I know what I am doing, even as chaos and confusion engulf your globe. I am coming soon and everything will be made clear. In the meantime, keep focusing on me. I am your PRIZE and we will be together soon. I Love you! Your Jesus

Christ: Our Redeemer September 5, 2009 "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth." (Job 19:25) This famous testimony of Job has encouraged many. He knew, as we can know, the reality of his living Redeemer, and that the Redeemer would one day reign over His creation as intended. A redeemer is one who buys back something which has fallen into the hands of the enemy. Originally, the creation was in the proper hands, but Adam sinned, and to a great extent the rebellious world and all its inhabitants fell into bondage at the hands of Satan. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). We became the slaves or "servants of sin" (Romans 6:20). In order to be freed, a slave must be redeemed. Could we as slaves have bought ourselves back? No, we had nothing of worth. Silver and gold would not do it. In fact, nothing short of the blood of a completely innocent sacrifice would suffice to pay the "wages of sin" (Romans 6:23). Only God the Son, by laying aside aspects of His deity and taking on human flesh, could be that perfect sacrifice. "And he saw that there was no man |capable of redeeming mankind|, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation" (Isaiah 59:16). "In his love and in his pity he redeemed them" (Isaiah 63:9) by His own blood, buying us out of bondage to sin and Satan. Notice also that this redemption is not just something we hope for; it is a fact! He has done it, and it will never be undone! "Thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob" (Isaiah 60:16). "I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" (2 Timothy 1:12). JDM

Declaring the Unknown God September 6, 2009 "As I . . . beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you." (Acts 17:23) The people of Athens were known to be quite religious, worshipping a host of nature gods. They even had set up an altar "to the unknown god." Paul pounced on this point of contact to declare unto them the God they didn’t know. He starts by laying the foundation: This God, he claims, is the Creator. He not only "made the world and all things therein" (v. 24), but also is "Lord of heaven and earth." To cause to exist and then to rule over all of creation, one must be omnipotent. He is much too great to dwell in "temples made with hands." How ludicrous to think He might need anything, including the worship of men, "seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things" (v. 25).
This God "hath made of one blood all nations of men" and "hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation" (v. 26). To know all men, their race, futures, and details of their lives, God must be omniscient, eternal, boundless. He has done this so "that they should seek the Lord" (v. 27). He is not hard to find, for He is "not far from every one of us." He is the sustainer and source of all life. "In him we live, and move, and have our being; . . . we are also his offspring" (v. 28), totally unlike gods of "gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device" (v. 29). But mankind has not known this God. He has been patient, but hates sin, and "commandeth all men every where to repent" (v. 30), to gain forgiveness based on the work of "that man whom he hath ordained" (v. 31) as a final sacrifice, or as righteous judge. We can be sure of this because, when the sacrifice was slain, God "raised him from the dead" (v. 31). Some mocked at the declaration of this mighty God (v. 32); some refused to act; but others believed (v. 34). JDM

Sound The Alarm
And he said to me, "What do you see?" So I said, "I am looking, and there is a lamp stand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left." Zechariah 4:2-3 (NKJV)
Where are My warriors? Sound the alarm and take your places. Stop waiting for others to take your station. Be found where you know you are called.
Arise. Stand firm in My spirit. I will direct you. Yes, you are equipped. Sound the alarm. My people are not to be complacent My glory will fill the earth. My fire will burn from each altar. It shall never be extinguished.
Let My truth arise. Speak forth truth. Counter the lies of death the enemy is spreading. Call forth for My mercy and righteousness. Speak out what in prayer what I place in your heart so My will may be done. Take My light into the darkness of your cities. Let it flow forth from My vessels.

Zechariah's Strange ProphecySeptember 7, 2009 "All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass." (Matthew 21:4-5) When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on an unbroken donkey colt on that momentous first day of the week, just a week before His resurrection, the multitudes quickly recognised that He was fulfilling an ancient prophecy and thereby specifically claiming to be their long-awaited Messiah. The prophecy was that of Zechariah 9:9, and the people in turn began to fulfill David’s even more ancient prophecy, laying palm branches in His path, and crying out: "Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD" (Psalm 118:26). This is one of the few events in the life of Christ that are recorded in all four gospels, though only Matthew notes it as the fulfillment of prophecy. And what a strange prophecy it was! One would think that the anticipated King would come riding on a great white horse, ready to put down all His enemies (and indeed He shall do exactly that some day--see Revelation 19:11). But here He comes riding on a colt, the foal of an ass, not high and mighty, but meek and lowly! Ah, but as Zechariah prophesied, He comes "just, and having salvation" (Zechariah 9:9). And the salvation He was bringing was not deliverance from Roman subjugation, but eternal deliverance from sin and its awful wages. These same multitudes which hailed Him soon were following their high priest in clamoring for His crucifixion. Nevertheless He someday will fulfill Zechariah’s later prophecy: "They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him" (Zechariah 12:10). Then, finally, indeed, "the LORD shall be king over all the earth" (Zechariah 14:9). HMM

Perilous Times and the Word of GodSeptember 8, 2009 "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." (2 Timothy 3:1) These sobering words introduce the last message of the apostle Paul just before his martyrdom. Instead of the world being converted to Christ and getting better and better as the gospel goes out around the world, "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13). The twenty characteristics of people in the last days listed in the verses following our text constitute almost a definition of humanism--self-love, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, etc. The humanistic basis of all these peril-producing attributes of the last days is most evident in the last two: "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof;" and "ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (2 Timothy 3:5, 7). The most disturbing aspect of this situation is that these are given as characteristics of people in a professedly Christian society, having a form of piety but rejecting creation and the miraculous aspects of true biblical Christianity. Furthermore, those in such a pseudo-Christian society who determine to "live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12). The answer to such an environment, however, is neither conformity nor compromise. Paul's counsel is simply to "continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, . . . from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:14-15). Thus, the basic answer to every problem, even in the perilous times of the last days, is simply to continue believing and obeying the inspired, profitable, perfecting Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Stand Strong In Me
My plans for you are for good; they are for you to prosper and succeed in Me. Yes, you are at this time standing in the middle of the storm, but I am there with you. Things may not have turned out like you thought they would, but now you are finally in the place where I can manifest My divine order. I have set you on the path that is right for you.
I assure you that you never have to doubt My love for You, for I am a God who delights in giving good gifts to His children. Look to Me and trust Me, for as you do, I will cause My goodness to pass before you. I am gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loyal love and faithfulness.
This storm is only for a season, so allow My fire to go over you and purify you. I desire to consecrate you completely to Myself, and My holy fire is going over you; it is refining you and causing you to become the golden vessel that I intend you to be. I will demonstrate My faithfulness to you, even while you go through this process, even in the midst of this storm. I want you to know that I have every intention of bringing you through it and into victory.
Remember, My path is not a path broad and well traveled and only a few are willing to travel it to the end. Many give up right before the breaking of the dawn, but I do not want you to be among those who give up. Keep on standing and moving forward in Me, despite what your circumstances look like. While you press on, I will open your eyes, and I will grant you greater understanding regarding My kingdom. My fire will burn up the stubble, hindrances and blocks in your life, and My Spirit will flood into those areas and cause My divine order and presence to flow into them.
Once My refinement is accomplished in you, you will stand in the place where My kingdom manifests. You will stand in the place where My will is done, in and through you, as it is in Heaven. So stand strong in Me and in My power, Knowing that you are not paying this price without reward and victory.

Desperate for More of God
And I feel this word is not just for me but for the body of Christ as well. Are we truly desperate for God? Do we recognize if we are? I mean down deep in our spirit-man.
The Lord is saying: "Are you desperate enough for Me to abandon yourself to Me? Are you desperate enough to pick up your cross and follow Me regardless of the outcome? Are you desperate enough to labor in the great harvest for souls for My kingdom?"
These are challenging questions that the Lord is asking His people to consider in this hour in history. The Lord reminded me of some of the desperate people in the Bible. Just to name a few: king Asa when the Cushites marched against Israel. Asa called out to the Lord for help for the Cushites were too great for them to fight, and God responded to his prayer. Daniel prayed and fasted and repented for 21 days, and God responded by sending His angel to bring the answer to his petitions. The disciples in the boat on the stormy waters of Galilee cried out for Jesus to save them lest they perish. And the 120 believers in the upper room were desperate for God, for Jesus had just been taken up into heaven.
The Lord is saying, "I allow My people to come into that place of desperation." it may be the circumstances surrounding us at this time that makes us desperate. For only desperate people do desperate things, desperate exploits. To be desperate is an extreme condition requiring an extreme response. To be desperate for God is being totally sold out to Him. God is ready to respond to our prayers. However, He is asking us to consider what it means to be desperate for Him. He is saying that it will cost us much and we need to count the cost.

The Good Fight September 9, 2009 "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses." (1 Timothy 6:12) Scripture frequently refers to the Christian life and work in athletic or combative terms. When all things are considered, reason compels the Christian to enter into the race and fight. First, our Commander is worth following. He leads us into battle and stands with us on the front lines receiving the fiercest fire: "Let us run with patience the race. . . . Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross" (Hebrews 12:1-2). Second, we are well-armed and protected. The "whole armour of God" includes the girdle of "truth," the "breastplate of righteousness," shoes of "the preparation of the gospel of peace," "the shield of faith," "the helmet of salvation," and "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:13-17). The warrior's mouth is filled with prayers and bold speech (vv.18-20); his sword has no scabbard, and his back has no armour, for retreat is unthinkable. The goal of our fight urges us on. We strive to undermine the kingdom of darkness and to fill it with light. Each must battle on to exalt our Leader and to champion His Word. "Consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds" (Hebrews 12:3). To the victor belongs the spoils. "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne" (Revelation 3:21). We no longer will be soldiers, but kings; we will trade our battle armour for robes, washed and made "white in the blood of the Lamb" (Revelation 7:14). Our helmet will be replaced by an "incorruptible" crown (1 Corinthians 9:25)-- "a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give |us| at that day" (2 Timothy 4:8). JDM

Suffer Little Children September 10, 2009 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." (Luke 18:16) A widely-read book several decades ago based its title, Suffer Little Children, on this plea of Christ, but used the words instead to refer to the terrible harm being suffered by America’s little children in its public schools and humanistic social institutions. Not only were they being indoctrinated with evolutionary just-so-stories, but also with socialistic understanding of the world and its nations and people. And if things were bad thirty and forty years ago, they are much worse today with the modern promotion of deviant lifestyles and wide use of behaviour-modifying "medicines" to control behaviour. There are certainly many good Christian teachers and schools, but the over-all trend is so bad that many Bible-believing churches and organizations are diligently promoting Christian schools and home schools as a needed means of escape from the deadly influence of public schools on the children. Worst of all is the deliberate banning of prayer, God, the Bible, and Christ from the schools in a misused devotion to the myth of church/state separation. Instead of "suffering the little children" to come to Christ like He said, most of them do all they can to prevent it. Those who promote this situation are in grave danger themselves. Jesus warned: "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6). There is a better way, of course. A good school, acting en loco parentis, should seek heartily to "bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). HMM

LIFE
"My children fear Life. They fear living for in living comes a divine confrontation to truly believe me in all things. When all is coming against you and when all seems impossible, one must choose to believe. In believing, one must then walk out this belief by faith and live. In Life there is conflict, struggle, confrontation and contradiction. In life there is pain and sorrow and trials and tribulation. In life there is all of this, but in life there I AM. I am in life for I am life. For many of my children it is less painful to walk in the shadows than to truly walk in the light. For in the light comes a direct confrontation between good and evil. This very light exposes all that is in you that opposes my life flowing through you. I am in the light. I am light and I am life. In the light, there is a divine confrontation between who you are and who I desire you to be as I conform you to my Son. In the light you must see the truth and truly look at yourself - all your failures and past defeats are brought out in the light. Yet, I am there with you to then truly show you that to truly live is to recognize that in your imperfections, you are truly loved as you are. I am with you, I am in you. Look at yourself and then look at me. You are to conform yourself to no man's expectations or admiration. You are to allow me to conform you into the image of My Divine Son. In My Son there is life. So live." To live is truly the dilemma of the age. How does one truly live? People are trying to live up to their own false expectations of what they feel life should truly be. They have a script that they have written in their minds and they are trying to live out their script. When what they think should happen comes into confrontation with what actually does happen, false expectations and all hope is dashed to the ground and we face our worst enemy - ourselves. We have set up idols in our lives that deny the very life of Christ working through us. Our idols are what we expect life to give us or to be for us. When our false expectations come into direct opposition to the cross working its way in us, we are often severely disappointed and it tests and undermines our faith. Yet this is not truly faith in Him but faith in what we have thought life would be for us. We cease to then truly live unless we submit to His life working in us. We appear to be living on the outside but inside, many are dying because life has failed them. Yet life has not failed them. Jesus has not failed them. It is time to align ourselves with His life and His expectations, His hopes and His destiny for our lives. In losing our life, we find our life in Him. It is time to live, not just exist. Live. Matthew 16:25-27 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? NKJV John 10:10 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. NKJV In our false expectations of what life should really be, we are always disappointed. We never truly live as we try to outwardly conform to what people think we should be, family expectations, job expectations, societal pressure - yet this is not how we should live, this is not life. To live means to stop looking outward and start looking inward to Christ in us, the hope of glory. We are in Christ and being in Him is the only way to walk out an abundant life. Who defines life? Christ Jesus. He is our life. Fear and faith are diametrically opposed to one another. Fear creates a platform of unbelief, doubt and skepticism. So many Christians are filled with fear. They fear living. They fear stepping out by faith, throwing all caution to the wind and following Christ in the way that He leads each and every one of us. Faith requires death to our vision and our plan and walking a narrow path of life in His will and His ways. It is time to stop existing and to truly live. LIFE!"
