Re: Must You Be Baptized In A River?

Not really, it is simply a matter of location. If your church has a swimming pool, you don't need a river. Also if your church is beside a river, you don't need to travel a mile in order to use a pool. However for health and safety reasons, I would suggest that only highly experienced swimmers use a river whlist baptizing. The early church used rivers due to the large number of converts being baptized. Also baptism requires full water immersion, therefore some people may prefer a river or pool.

Where are they.  Do you consider yourself one? Then say something reasonable.

Why would god kill  his pastor or allow his pastor to die in so horrible a manner?    Does this show the benevolent nature of god?  For godness sake,  these people where gathered in his name - where the hell was he?  Somewhere drinking wine?

Nothing fails like worshiping god!

Your agitation here your personal quandary, because you have no answers for your fear.

Are you forgetting the fact that everyone has to die someday? Some go sooner, others go later.

Everyone will still die anyway.

Accidents happen. A pastor can also be involved in a fatal car accident. People die in various ways every single day.

Since you like to question God and ignore the existence of satan, i don't know what answer can ever satisfy you.

So in your opinion, it was God that killed the pastor?

can you ask yourself the same question about Jesus- why did God allow Jesus to die in such a horrible manner.

@Tpia: Your statement that everyone will die contradict the rapture mindset that Christianity has. How do you explain this 180 degree opposite position?

No; confirmation is literally a holy ghost baptism. The orthodox churches typically do it after receiving the holy communion.

Another sad story happened here in the USA where a pastor was baptizing a believer in the church indoor pool and held the mic while in the water and he got electrocuted.
Very sad.

So what special earthly privileges does worshiping god confer if these followers of god are subject to exactly the same natural fates the happen to everyone, whether the love god or not?

Worse still, doesn't their religion say that if you love and trust god he will protect you from such incident?

If he does not and cannot protect from such mishap, then what is the point of loving and worshiping him.    He is simply a big fat liar  who takes all you time, efforts, money and love but  returns zilch.

No doubt most reasonable people distrust this your god.

These people are killed while in the service of their god.  Did god forget about them?  What happened to all the prayers they would have made?

This your god has a funny way of saying he does not exist, viz drowning, electrocuting, fuming his own ministers.  I just can't stop laughing;

who exactly are you fighting- God or people who believe in God.

If your beef is with God, then direct your questions directly to God, since you're unwilling to accept any human answer.

If your problem is with people, then say so. Ask them the rationale behind their belief and accept the fact that in this world, everyone can't be the same. We are not clones. Everyone can present their arguments for or against a particular thing, but you can't force anyone to accept or reject the same things you do.
