Movies With Best Visual Effects
« on: August 13, 2008, 05:34 PM »

The movie that tripped me so much with it's visual effects is The Matrix 1. The movie showcased some never before seen effects like the bullet time thingy. I never get tired of watching The Matrix 1. There are other movies with good effects but The Matrix is the evolution. What's yours?

I think Matrix has it too with me.  The jumping, the identical characters etc makes you want to see those effects again.

Not a thing to talk about lightly.

Lots of things to consider when talking about the best

The skill, the artistry

how does it contribute to the overall credibility, the overall production of the movie

For me, The best has got to be

in more recent times, Narnia, Kingkong and The Matrix

Far back would be, Jurassic park and Starwars

aww, Spielberg oh how i loff thee

I agree, I don't think I've seen better Slow mo' effects in another movie. If you look carefully, the slow mo' effects in other movies just don't cut it  Grin

The beauty of The Dark Knight is that there is no fancy visual effects whatsoever. This made the movie very credible. They ain't showing Dark Knight in SilverBird yet?

Transformers. the sheer complexity is mind-boggling. then the three starwars prequels where almost every shot is a visual  effect shot

@ice  zik. there is a difference between visual effect and special effect shots. the explosions, the city backdrops, the flying/gliding sequences, all those are visual effects. harvey dent's scarred face, some of the digital backdrops and the hospital explosions were digitally enhanced. those were special effects shots.

you can't really shoot batman (and gotham city) without any kind of effect.

Exactly, the slow mo is a killer especially that scene at the beginning where Trinity jumped up. Oh I just love that part, I can leave on repeat til NEPA takes the light  Grin

By Night
By Candle Light
by the flaming wrath of the Ancients

may the hellspawn of cursed nights feast on the carrion
of those who denounce the Elf

lime, salt and ICE are must shall decay in the wind
their base substance wafting to Hades, and damn their eternal soul

time shall burn the memories of the defiant ones, those who divinity defied

and defiled

the woodland Elf.

gamine, the god from hell shall not let apostates denounce you.

Kiss Kiss Kiss

Whats with the LOTR speak?

Final Fantasy VII- Advent Children has very very breathtaking scenes, fight sequences and background imagery.

The whole film is computer generated!

@Ex and Gamine

As a Rider, I roam across my Nairaland,
Slaying Elves and Orcs with my right hand.

An Elven-maid there was of old,
A shining star by day:
Her mantle white was hemmed with gold,
"Gamine" was not her name, I say.

A star was bound upon her brows,
A light was on her hair
As sun upon the golden boughs
In Lorien the fair.

A Demon rode to take her hand,
A creature of "Inferis" it was,
I sent him back with a neat backhand,
And to this day, he knows not what was!
