It is interesting to note that Nigerians in diaspora are doing more for Nigeria that Nigerian officials at home. While Nigerian politicians are busy shipping their stolen funds abroad, Nigerians in diaspora are busy injecting more funds into Nigeria from abroad.

Who loves Nigeria more?  Huh

He must hold Nigerians in the Diaspora in such a high esteem as to believe that they are the ones needed to do the job, which our leaders could not do in nearly 48 years.

Thank you for that note. Last I checked, Nigerians living outside of the country pump in billions more into that economy each year than the very government does. YOu ask a very good question there.

The Money from diaspora is whats sustaining the nigeria economy, its what is making the stock exchange roar, its what is making ordinary nigerians to afford basic things of life, buying a TV for your mum or dad, buying a new car for your relatives, buying land in choice areas in order to invest, and the list goes on, if this fund drys, the nigeria economy will collaspe, because any money gotten from oil is shipped abroad by our politicians

Its high time Nigerians in abroad create alternative goverment, because the nigeria goverment has failed us, The sole aim is to accelerate the developmental goals of the nation and make Yaradua's vision of leaping from a developing nation to industialised nation by 2020.
Objectives of the alternative govt

1. To hold a National congress of all nigerians in diaspora
2. The aim is to choose a National president of Nigeria in diaspora.
3.The aim is not to wrestle power with demoratically elected govt but act as an alternative govt in providing jobs for our young people, building busineses, buying land in large swathes of nigerian cities with the sole aim creating new alternative cities for our members, cities where everything works from electricity to water.
4.The president will be chosen through an on-line voting system armed with a budget of $1 billion dollars a year.
5. Top world accounting firms will be chosen to forensically audit the account yearly.
6. The president will have a vice - president and probably 10 commisoners.
7. The president will be on a salary of $50,000.00 and each comminsioners will be given $35,000.00 each, the vice president will be on $40,000.00
8. The terms will be 4 a four year term.
9. On appointment hte president and his commisioners shall relocate to Nigeria untill the end of their term.

How do we fund this grand scheme - The scheme would be funded by every Nigeria in diaspora from the ones in Ghana to the ones Austalia, if each Nigeria in diaspora contributes £100.00 a year this development goal can be acheived.

Who is eligible to be the president and commisioners, every nigeria in diaspora who contributes to the fund it does not matter if your a cleaner in diaspora or a professor. But it will be of great benefit if you attain some reasonable level of education.

So Nigerians in diaspora - I want you all to ponder over this proposal I am sure some of you out there could modify these vision and make it a reality. UP Nigeria, One Nigeria !!

I think that is a great proposal, however, if will be a great battle for the office in Nigeria, because all them old politicians will never leave the office for us all in peace, they have the mentality of "if not me, no one else" and with such mentality, it is hard to play balls with them, because they will go any lenght to destroy one's vission, and they will not mind to even result in murder, that is how useless they are.

I think it would be ideal if each state had a representative, like the role of the "governor" so not one commissioner is tasked with too much burden? But then again, the budget would decide if that's feasible.

But getting people to get behind this idea though is the thing. How does one get people to really think through this and trust it? Get the word out, so to speak, to all nigerians globally?

I can see that you are still missing the point, or should i say that you are just being dillussioned.
Firstly, tell me what Fashola has got to offer, now, don't get me wrong, no one is telling the govt there to give them money, but are they really ready for a change, a govt that wants a change and truely wants the proffessionals out of nigeria to come back will have an open dooor policy, just in case u don't get it, an open door policy means, people that has something to offer would get the chance to meet with those who can help him to make such changes, tell me how u expect someone to bribe his way to meet with the power brokers in nigreia all because they want to help to build the nations, don't get me wrong, for security sake, i do know that not every tom, privates and harriet cld walk into the governor's office, but what plan do they have in place that even an ordinaty e-mail being sent will get to the governor without some red head secetary to the governor redirecting such mail into the "deleted messages"?
No one is happy with how Nigeria is, and no matter how long we are out of nigeria for, we will forever be a Nigerian and would like to look back and see a great nation that we ought all to have, I as a person is willing and ready to go through what it takes, but when ur voice can't and wont be heard all because you last name is not abiola and yar'adua and yet u have to go through all the pain that is out there, please, tell me if that is not double jeopardy.
It is easy to make a call for people to come back and let us fix the nation, however, is he ready to give people what it takes to do the job?

Hey everyone, I'm sorry ive been off Nairaland 4 sometime that is y i havnt been able to reply my lost child $$RHINO

''I can see that you are still missing the point, or should i say that you are just being dillussioned'', hey watch ur tongue,I'm very good at tying it up, check my resume n ask kobojunkie,he knows me well thats y he is using u as a sheild. Now a quick word on ur write up, u have already murdered ur psych,u don't believe u can work ur way up or make a diffrence without engaging in such practices.there are diffrent ways of acheiving ur goals but some people narrow their paths even if theres no real competition or persuation to,in this veiw,u find life hard and u see the posible as impossible, then finally u become $$RHINO
i heard rhino's have a bad sight, u ny friend have got life all wrong,

@Rhino, problem here is you rattled the delusions he has of his HERO in this case. From his attitude, you can get that he is one of the many who demand you not speak “AGAINST” the will of his hero. In this case, it will never sit well with him that there are people here who are willing to debate his HERO and so they ought to be condemned and punished for such atrocities. The rule for majority of these minds is that you never question the will of their master and you never suggest better for their masters as their master has ultimate say in all cases, no matter how stupid.  ROFLMAO!!!

I tell you, these Nigerians and their need for HERO WORSHIP, no matter how stupid, is what is killing that country. Usually, if you ignore them, they will realize they have nothing useful to offer and then move on. Sometimes, they rest of the gang shows up and goes on and on for another two pages before they catch on. ROFLMAO!!!

@ kobojunkie,
"my attitude is what makes me ur HERO"
kobo, can't i just leave u 4 a second without u jumping around n u making a mess of things like a child??the fact of this matter is,the person u are talking about in this topic is in ur age bracket n i suspect u might be older,he has been able to move from beign a school kid to governor of a state(u still dey there),now he is making decisions that will change the lives of many. Now,as for you,u choose another path, visa, wash plates and run ur mouth on nairaland n influence nobody.can't u build up yourself like him then make and take decisions so people like myself would respect u?u know if u had choosen a more xpensive way not the cheap path u have by now ud probably be someone in this society some people would live for n probably die for.like i explained earlier, there are many ways to achieve ur goals.Anyways as for you kobojunkie, i really look 4ward to the day nairalanders would put us up 4 a debate so i can give u the verbal whopass u deserve, because u seem to run away anytime i catch u on a thread,
