Do you need medical exam to secure a tourist visa in Lagos? I don't even think you need medicals for F1 visa.

all you folks now asking him questions didn't you all hear that he is going to pack?
congrats and i hope you don't turn out to be like that people who refuse to answer the questions asked. Besides you can't fault Nairalanders for no answering what if no one had an answer for you or your question just wasn't clear

@ faoni572 & others I also just got my US tourist visa about 2 weeks ago and all i can tell you is that be confident of yourself and try to answer every question to the best of your knowledge. First, the documents you need would depend on whether you're a student or you're working. For me, am an accountant working in a multi-national and i supplied: -A letter from the company confirming me as a staff and stating my annual pay -My Bank Statements for 6 months -My Payslips -Employment letter -Birth Certificates - Any other relevant documents relating to your position. For me, i had my interview in Lagos because the logistics for Abuja wasn't dere but i was shocked that i was also done in about 3hrs. By 9.45am, my interview was over and i walked out smiling . Whether your interview is in Lagos or Abuja, just answer your questions correctly & confidently and always with an intention to come back to naija. . I'll post some of the questions he asked me later in the thread but i can tell you that he took a good look at my bank statements & the letter from my employer ( particularly my annual income - he was very interested in that. )

ok due to popular demand, like nikkygal said its very impt that you display intent of coming back- because the visa officers can read body language. I'm just going for 3weeks anyway and i got multiple entry for 2years. I work for a multinational (one of the big four professional services firms) so all my questions at the interview where based on my job. The visa officer seemed intrigued by my company and he asked me what i loved about my job, what i actually do for my company etc. he DIDNT even look at any of my supporting docs apart from the letter from my employers and my account statement, not even my invitation letter, or evidence of my host's status in the US etc and most suprising of all, he didnt even ask me about my ties to Nigeria because i really don't have any apart from my job. So it actually helps to have a great job because it gives credibility, the two girls before me got rejected because the visa officer said he wasnt satisfied with their ties to Nigeria- and they had land, kids etc whereas i am single, using a virgin passport,no land etc -so it also boils down to God's favour. I went to the embassy with:
- Letter from my employers stating my vacation days and confirming my employment - Leave approval letter -6 months pay slip -6 months bank statement - Cover letter written by me, stating why i would come back to Nigeria - Invitation letter& evidence of my hosts status - tax clearance - My complimentary business cards -My work id card - My employment letter and a few other things, but as i said just my bank statement and letter from my employers were used, Goodluck everyone
