I disagree with getting a good location especially when ur intention is based on a small scale with very limited resources!
Firstly you need to consider the population in the location where u intend to own ur supermarket do an estimated survey and make sure the location is densly populated, secondly reachout to your customers with love and compasion discuss their worries and you will win their hearts in no time, give them some financial wavers and sometimes using your instinct grant credits u can afford!!! you need to do this if the location is competitive e.g 5 other supermarkets in same environment,  Average income earners or low income earns environment, will also do you alot of good because rich people don't like patronising neighbourhood its belittling for them and they shop in bulk. so they rather visit mega plaza, shoprite, psalms etc.
