The only iffy part of this story is the fact that Customs Officials was mistakenly interspersed for Immigration Officials. Not only do they have the right to ask you to spread your legs wide, they are also well within their rights to shove their arm up your arse if they wish. IT IS CALLED CAVITY SEARCH, If you don't want to be subjected to such, they have the right to put you on the next plane back to wherever you are coming from.To those who think these things do not happen, open your eyes. The only reason it does not happen frequently to Nigerians is because any plane flying to UK from Jamaica is surrounded by dogs, whilst the plane coming from Nigeria is surrounded by immigration officials. Go figure .

She said, “Immediately we were taken into the room, we were compelled to take off our clothes. We protested but they threatened to deport us if we failed to co-operate . they were afraid of being deported ehn, whatever you see take!!! and why are we screaming here? are nigerians not subjected to similar stuffs by nigerians here in naija? In life if you believe that your life depended on doing a particular thing, you would be made to kiss someone's ass and you will do it without blinking, after all there was an option, the officials were even lenient: TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES OR GET DEPORTED. they chose to take off their clothes. its their choice , why grumble.

Why are we delaying and wasting precious time by scrapping the barrel?
If we all feel this is bullshit and is violating our human rights, why don't we all start a protest and boycott travelling to London and any other country that wants to subject us to such dehumanising treatment.

Jamaicans get this treatment meted out to them more than Nigerians because . . . It is not a Nigerian thing, it happens all over the world, It even happens in Nigeria too. Once again, for want of beating on and on like a broken record, It is called a CAVITY CHECK.
You cannot contest this legally, well at least no one has been able to yet.You are given the choice of either to submit yourself or get back on the next flight to Nigeria.
The fact that the officials did not find anything this time does not mean the method would be stopped. Peopla are known to hide drugs in their rectum, privates, colon, vagina, etc. They have a job to do, and trust me, it cannot easy, from where i am seeing it anyway. [b]

Paranoid? Us? Non, ma cherie. The Brits cannot be allowed to get away with this, enough is enough, we have to teach them a lesson. Until we get an apology from the Queen and No 10 Downing Street, we should boycott them and stop coming to Britain. Any takers?

When Nigerian men and woman learn to stop hiding drugs in their to-tos and nyashes then such searches will not be justified! NDLEA arrests two women for cocaine trafficking Two women have been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for inserting illegal substances suspected to be cocaine in their private parts. According to a statement by the agency, the suspects, Friday Joy, 27, and Aruna Ramot, 28, were arrested at 7pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, during the screening of passengers on KLM flight to Amsterdam. “Two of them were found to have inserted five wraps each in their private parts,” the statement said. He said that the NDLEA was able to arrest the women because it was well informed on the tricks often employed by drug traffickers, adding that the agency would fulfil its mission of preventing the country from being used as a transit nation. Friday, a housewife with a four-year-old son, resides in Bologna in Italy. She inserted five wraps weighing 273 grammes into her private parts. The suspect, who has spent over seven years in Italy, told the NDLEA that she was in desperate need of money to rent an apartment, having been separated from her husband for over a year. “It was not my intention; I was only doing it to help myself and my son. I needed money urgently to rent a house. I bought the drugs for the sum of 3,300 euros,” she reportedly confessed. Preliminary investigation by the NDLEA revealed that this was her second time of trafficking in hard drugs. In her statement, she indicated that she was given 2,000 euros on her first trip. “The man I went to for help to secure a job told me to do drug business. This is my second time, the first time I was successful and my sponsor paid me 2,000 euros. Considering my condition, I decided to do it myself,” she stated. Her friend, Ramot, a divorcee, who also lives in Italy, inserted five wraps of the suspected substance, weighing 269 grammes into her private part. Both suspects, who are from Edo State, claimed to have bought the drug from a man identified as ‘chairman’. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/aug/18/422.html

This is one of the sickest and dumbest story i have ever read in my life, not because of what the immigation officers do but because the story is sooo untrue, having worked as a custom officer myself at BAA airports for 3 years, i can honestly say the writer or the culprit isnt telling exactly what happened to her.
(1) Custom officers don't just stripe you, u are given a form of your rights and afer reading it you sign or you don't sign, if you don't sign the form your case is referred to a higher authority
(2) /customer officers know these days that drug smugglers don't put drugs on or in their body parts, instead they swallow it , mind you this custom officials are not new in this job
(3) I really don't know why the woman never gave her name, according to the writer, she clamined of her of some kind of revenge, how sick
(4) Why didnt the woman in question never took the officals name of badge number if she so feels she was unfairly treated or in most nigerian cases racially abused, ok, u might argue she dosent know her rights, but when u were followed to the room the first thing u are made aware of is your rights and responsibilties.
With references to the above reasons, i don't believed she is telling the truth of betterstill, the reporter decided to add his own selective words to make the story sell newspaper , maybe she is confusing murtala airport with some english airport.

Not trying to knock you or anything, but they are still allowed to perform this search in lieu of a diagnostic imaging if they strongly suspect you to be carrying something. So this is either done by the mere mortal that is the custom's officer or by his higher superior or preferably by a medical expert. Moreover, CAVITY SEARCH has been carried out worldwide for donkey years, nobody who legally challenged this method has won yet. The law as it stands is that it is necessary for security reasons and that it is in the interest of the Country. If you refuse to be subjected to this search, you have a choice and the option to return to where you are travelling from with immediate effect. (4) Why didnt the woman in question never took the officals name of badge number if she so feels she was unfairly treated or in most nigerian cases racially abused, . . .
Is it the same Nigerians, that when a white person steps on them or falls down, are quick to say sorry? Or is it the manic grin or the nodding of their head like an agama lizard, that they display when they see an oyinbo, you want to talk about? , maybe she is confusing murtala airport with some english airport.
What Do you mean this happens in Nigeria too ? Dang you have just burst my bubble. I was on such a high at the prospect of the forthcoming protest and boycott to teach this Brits a lesson, oh well, I guess I have to find something else to boycott then Thanks but no thanks.

yes of course ,,,,,,something can be done about that , i read a newspaper last week about one jamaican man that was delayed because they thought it was suspicion of drugs or something, he was delayed and randomly checked for like 4 times by the security men at the air-ports to the usa, he said that it was the only black man in the line. he won a compensation for that. look at this case. black nigerians are more likely to be search more than any other african country.if i was the woman i will go and speak to my lawyer this is very disgusting acts by the british peoples.if we nigerian done the same things to british peoples how is it going to be ?

When you know your right , you stick on that!! The problem with we Nigerians is that we're always in a hurry and desperate to get what we want and at the end we're the victim. If they had allowed time and stand by their rights, such thing wouldn't have happened to them.
It will take someone to suffer and liberate others just like the independence we're enjoying today.
