VILLAGE MONARCH

Yesterday he was a trader
A fairly successful dealer;
Today he is a ruler
The monarch of our village

They say we are now autonomous
Granted freedom to form a new kingdom;
Old Uncle Joe was made a monarch
King over ten hamlets.

Inspired by the granting of autonomous status to my small community

I like your poem. It paints a coherent picture and is easy to follow and understand.

I do declare, this poem is awesome, its almost sublime. I read it more than 15 times. I love your use of metre, rythm and the simple but profound story. Keep it up man
