Rhd To Lhd Enquiry.

I get LHD bits for Audi / VW from www.ebay.de (German ebay).

You'll need:

1) Dash (fascia) upper and lower
2) Glovebox lid
3) Pedal box
4) Steering rack
5) Aircon / heater box assemble (behind dash)
6) Aircon high / low pressure pipes
7) Dash wiring harness (or modified RHD one)
Steering column
9) Miscillaneous odds and sods

I've done quite a few of these conversions, it's important to know that cars from 2003> are CAN-BUS equipped i.e the electronic systems are Controller Area Network, rather than the older K-communication version.

This means the ECU's and various electronic systems are less forgiving when it comes to rewiring, if a mistake is made. The ECU's will just get fried.

I've had folk from the UK ship cars out to Nigeria, to get them converted out there. And had weeks of emails, and telephone calls, where the "specialists" have torn the cars apart, and been unable to get them running once completed! It's pretty hard to give online support, as often the "specialists" can't tell me how far they've gotten, or what the last thing they did was, before they connected up diagnostic equipment to the CAN OBD II ports to monitor systems as they go along.

I doubt they monitor systems anyway, as CAN-capable diagnostic equipment isn't cheap, and the majority of folk won't have access to the stuff.
