Hip-hop Video Vixens

What do u think about this girls that appear in music videos? The likes of Melyssa Ford who is now a host of BET Style, Summer Walker, Esther Baxter, Buffie "The Body" Carruth and many more others.  Do you think they being exploited by the rappers?

Most of them don't even get paid especially tha ones in uncut videos.  Nelly's "tip drill" was a controversy when it came out. Do you think this girls should show less skin and shake less ass but then do you think without them hip-hop videos will be fun to watch

As long as they are not being forced to shake their "booties" in those videos, not pressured to wear skimpy clothes they'D never wear, not decieved about how much they are going to be paid for the aforementioned acts, and not misguided about what the videos are going to be used for, then they are not being exploied.

What an adult decides to do for the sake of money or fame (very important to women) is not ours to regulate!

Just one if I remember correctly. Tony Yayo's "So seductive" video. About the only redeeming factor about the video. She was the "vixen" in black clinging onto Yayo thruout the party scene.

It's their choice. They prefer to use their bodies instead of their brains to get ahead. Not the first time its happened, not the last time it will. Besides more than likely if they don't do it someone else will. But then Hip hop videos as a whole need to adopt a new format. The "bootie shaking", "cristal drinking", "jewelry flashing" format is really ancient.

most of this girls actually sleep wit the rappers just to appear in the vids. whoever has read the "confessions of a video vixen" by Karrine Steffans will confirm to this. she wrote that book as a warning to aspiring video vixens and all that it takes to be as popular as she was. she listed the names of all da rappers she slept wit just to be where she is now and she don't sleep wit them for free. she's a big time sex hustla anyways to be popular is their ultimate goal and they ready to do whatever. the ones in uncut vids are way too trashy even tha real video vixens confessed they will never be in uncut vids. they said this on one show on VH1 called sexploitation in hip-hop videos.

I'm not comparing them, but i think whatever those video girls want to do is their choice. I don't really care what they do.

And talking about superhead, that bitch is basket mouth. How she gon be spilling errthang that happened back-stage all because of a book. She gained what she wanted tho. I don't blame her. Abi was she forced to go and do what she did?

I don't watch music videos b/c I think hip hop videos condone and propagate the objectification of women. Hip Hop videos & "video hos" - I refuse to call them vixens! - used to make me sad but now I just laugh b/c someone people actually think that they depict class, achievement, art and beauty.

I hate the fact that music videos confuse people about the beauty of real art which does include nudity, sexuality and eroticism. I'm not suggesting that hip hop videos started moral decay though I do think it plays a part. As for the women: Haba! Melissa Ford, for example, looks disgusting. She looks like a melted mannequin designed during a 12 year old's wet dream; she's a grotesque of a real woman, like those wax dolls in London. Her Jessica Rabbit figure would be seductive if her breasts weren't flammable and her figure wasn't courtesy of a plastic surgeon. But "Let them eat cake". That such women would be popular in America is no surprise.

To a certain extent, Hip Hop Video Hos & Gold Diggers are created by men (yes I say men b/c while women work in this industry it is controlled by men) to cheapen the image of women & make women more contemptible for such cheapness and classlessness. Oh, the sexuality of black and ethnic image in the _Brave New World (read: America). . .The popularity of said women is indicative of the moral decay in Black America.

Anyhow, if the highlight of your life is letting Nelly swipe a credit card through your butt cheeks or bouncing your breasts in someone's face then send me an email & I'll add you to my prayer list.

I mean damn??  You can't even leave your child with the remote at night. Lets say your child decided to change channels from disney channel to BET.  The poor child would see things he's never seen before.
