My girlfriend:a virgin(confirmed) got pregnant.  When she told me, I took her to a doctor to confirm the stuff.  The doctor confirmed it and even said she is still a virgin. Does it imply that virginity is not a barrier to sperm or what?

Wow!!!!!!, in-fact this is really emotional,I feel for you.But if u believe she is still a virgin,hold her tight,a friend of mine just told me  a  similar story of someone  she knows atleast to an extent,that experienced something like that,d doctor confirmed she waS still a virgin , that probably during their fun n all that,d sperm of d guy would have gottn in,n u won't believe it that d girl gave birth 2 twins. D docotor even advised her 2 do it so that d virginer can be expanded.So plss.,girls be carefull ooooooooo!!!

I actually agree with tessy. I have heard of such incidences in the past n i even heard it from a doctor. What i'll like to know is how old she is.
I know for a fact that in the bid not to have actual penetration, girls (virgins or not) let guys play with them in many other ways. I know guys can have orgasms using the thighs of a girl.
Anyway I think there's a possibility but the truth is in all that rough play, her hymen has been broken or craked a little. It might still be present but not as solid as it should be.
Anyway i don't know for sure mayb u should get a second opinon from another doc!

I am a paediatrician not a gynecologist, however, I think i can shed some light on this rare but very possible situation.
In general, sperm don't survive at room temperature, nor when the semen gets dried out. That said, there have been rare cases where semen has been ejaculated near the opening of the vagina and the woman has become pregnant. It is not an effective way of trying to get pregnant, but it can happen. Also if some ejaculate or pre-ejaculate seep through or around your clothes and make its way into your vagina you can get pregnant. The presence of the hymen, the thin skin that stretches across part of the opening of the vagina (which, by the way, isn't detectable in all virgins because it can be stretched by non-sexual physical activity, such as playing sports) - will keep out sperm and prevent a woman from getting pregnant. However, the hymen doesn't cover the cervix. In the case of your friend she may not have had sexual intercourse, but her hymen may have been broken by other physical activities, these couple with presence of ejaculate or pre-ejaculate around her privates can lead to pregnancy.

ok mayb the medics r right and this situation is rare but did u actaully have any type of sexual penetration?because i hate to think of wot was goin on at the time 1 of your sperm may have seeped through. were u trying to penetrate and u ejaculated allover the place or did u actally do it? my mind boggles. this  has serious implications.this cud mean that guys have to wear condoms during foreplay.if there are any gyneacologists around please shed light on this issue.so now we can't even kiss someone without wondering if they would get pregnant or not. na wah o

dude, this story is way pass me.  :oi cannot believe that a virgin is pregnant. but as our medics have explained,it's seems that  there's nothing we can do about it, she's pregnant, she's pregnant!!: end of story. u can't go back in time to prevent it from happening. anyway, the main issue now is the question; if u will stay by her, and help her get through this pregnancy?,  :-\dude, i hate to be the one to tell u this, but u're a father now, does that men u would marry this girl so that this unborn(yet) child would have a married family to grow up in.
