A big expose has emerged from London, England, with a revelation that Jon Mikel Obi’s hopes of being part of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League stunner against Liverpool were actually put on hold by a member of the Chelsea medical crew.

Mikel was looking to play a super-sub role for the encounter, with pre-match forecasts noting that Avram Grant had lined out a training routine that had The Catalyst replacing Frank Lampard.

However, when time came for Grant to play his master card, with a plan to bank on Mikel’s marking abilities to block of Liverpool’s assault, he was astonished to find the youngster shivering.

It was initially thought that Mikel had caught a cold in the rain at Stamford Bridge, but the doctor’s checks revealed his was tensed up with anxiety of the big occasion.

Grant made another check some minutes later, and the doctor simply waved his head. “Mikel is a bag of nerves and will collapse if he plays”, was the verdict.

@ UB40 & Akolawole

This is the 1st time I've really come to see that the media can blow thing out of proportion, for christ sakes he is completely quoted out of context. This wasnt even the Sun's story, think they culled from the timesonline and did their own additions to sell story.
What Wenger was implying was that he is not as lucky as Chelsea currently is under Abramovich, so it will "morally wrong" for him 2 spend big when the Club has a 360 million pound debt (courtesy of the stadium), and with whatever else he said he was entirely wrong.

Lets face it Chelsea more or less lives for the moment. Off and on the pitch, Chelsea doesnt really have a concrete future, most of your players are very much at their prime and Abramovich milions are not exatcly in Chelsea's name. until u start making an profits as a club, well,
Utd has an edge even with their own debts, they've got an amazing pool of young players who still have years to go or even yet can fetch them millions on the alternative. plus they,ve got Old trafford ttht can equally generate cash, they/ve a huge fan base as well, and worth 905 million pounds in asset (acc 2 Forbes)
Arsenal were expecting a lot of cash for debt repayment from the sale of houses at Highbury(that will generate over 300 million), but with the housing market crash in the UK, maybe that has mad them redo their calculations. so they'll be looking at the nx year or two. the real benefit of the stadium expansion wil only be known after a period of 4-5 years

And you just continued from where Wenger stopped. . Actually you threw more light on what he was trying to sayYou see the media was right in the first place. . !!! Grin Grin

Wenger is also trying to say he will not win anything next season. If this is the mentality he takes to inot the next season, he will find it hard to play for fourth. Spurs, Mancity, AstonVilla Newcastle and Portsmouth will not be easy to beat next season for those that do not prepare.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now Alan Curb is a big idiot for his utterances. He is effectively trying to tell us that ManU will beat them. I wonder how people are allowed to say things like that and get away with it. I smell foul play now and again everytime it's to do with ManU.

There should be some serious investigation with the game at OT. The West Ham boys are not tackling and i did not expect them to roll over so quickly. Match fixing. Hmmm,Fergie is desperate to win the title even if what it will take him is to cheat. No honor among thieves.

Nateevs,
Forget those Alan CurbCheatly, What did you expect after the statement he made?

Below is my take on the players we've talked about before -

Karim Benzeama
Center Forward/Striker and can play both wings.Strong on his feet so can play in EPL. Highest paid in Ligue1, so may come at a price. Contract runs till 2013. Age = 20. Can Score goals. Can Dribble too when needed.

Samir Nasri
Attacking midfielder, Does not score too many goals. 20 years of age. A Joe Cole type of player but  a bit faster. Very skillful and can dribble well. Stays on his feet.

David Villa
Striker 26 years of age, Good scorer, with good accuracy

Ricardo Quaresma
24 years, Right Winger

Hartem Ben Arfa
Left winger, 21 years of age

I'm also looking at Frank Ribery, David Silva and possibly Joaquin.

I am in  favour of a number of those players except Villa. Brilliant player don't get me wrong but I do not think he can handle to the pressure of the prem. He's not got the tenacity of Torres.

Benzema is absolute class. I keep having this strange feeling we might be bidding for him. If we are going for Benzema and Ben Arfa at the same time, Aulas will make Abramovic go broke.

Quaresma is another guy I haven't concluded on. Ribery makes things happen. Joaquin is turned out slow and seems to have lost the trickery in him. Maybe he needs motivation I can't say.

One more thing that has bothered me is that we haven't replaced Duff and Robben. We are currently linked with Miralem Sulejmani of Hereveen. Qiuck feet, left footed and good on goal. Perfect guy for a left winger.

@Mr Mystikal

I know Wenger. Thats not the first time he will be saying that.

He should mind his business

Did you remember: "I could have bought Drogba", "I could have bought Makalele"

He should continue with his kids.

There is one french player in Milwall, he's a fried to Clichy and Diaby. He can go for that to replace Flamini Tongue

Haba AKolawole, so you believe the Everton 4-2 and this hammers game was fixed?

You dissapoint me gannnnn Tongue Tongue Tongue. You and I know the Everton 4-2 last season was just one of those lucky magical moments, because when we were 2-0 down, i felt there was EVER no way of coming back!!! But We are the UNITED.

About this WEst Ham game, you forgot that the Hammers are missing almost 5-6 starters, pherhaps thats a reason but generally, you know United deserve this trophy more than any team? Tongue Tongue

@ Rikkyjen,

Akola is a dreamer.

I remember the game against the toffees. . . . . Matter of fact, Chelsea was playing Bolton at the same time United was playing against Everton.
Bolton got a deserved 2-2 draw at the Bridge and Man Utd spanked Everton 4-2.
I cannot understand why anyone would feel the match was fixed especially when the players on the pitch didnt know what was happening in the other game.  Nigerians and conspiracy theories. . . . . .

@ Nateevs & Somze

Don't worry about Villa. Madrid have already bid £24m for him. They tapped him up long time ago and they have verbal agreement with him.

As for Sulejmani, I read somewhere that Ajax is his first choice. I haven't yet seen him so I can't comment if he is good enough for Chelsea.

As for Curbishley, I can't believe this guy:

He was playing against ten men and refused to play 2 strikers. Instead he puts Zamora on the left and Solano on the right. Absolutely shocking! No wonder West Ham fans are calling for his head. The fool has no ambition. Even losing 3-1, he is focusing on not conceding anymore rather than getting back in the game. Anyway, I don't blame him - this is a man who put Mascherano and Tevez on the bench whilst West Ham were facing relegation. Maybe they had too much talent for him and he didn't know what to do with it. Idiot!

Anyway, lets see what Wigan can do next week. They hammered Villa 2-0 at Villa Park today.

Why is howard not on goal in Godisson Park?

Why do Everton choose a Keeper that is a bench warmer in that Match?

Akola,
CurbCheatly is same with the Moyes et Neville of last year.
"Congratulations to Utd and all those who helped them"
Well done FA!!!

Players leaving? Well take your pick - SWP, Malouda, Kalou, Pizarro, Shevy, Sidwell, Belleti, Ferreira (I wish), Drogba (wants to leave), Lampard (wants new contract), Ballack (Undecided).

It is possible that at least four of five players would leave the club at the end of the season.

Nateevs, Ibime
Sulejmani and Arfa play the same wing. Arfa has more trickery and skill but Sulejmani is a far better scorer, plus Sulejmani will come at a lesser price and is younger - 19 years old.

Sulejmani is more of a winger and can play forward as a striker, Arfa can also play from the midfield proper. I don't know who has more speed though.

Who is going to pay Sheva that kind of money? Who?

Didier and Super Frankie can only be lured by JM. I am sure Lamps will not forget the failures of English away from England.

I think Balleti will stay, Sidwell will definitely go maybe to Arsenal with SWP Tongue

We also need space for some players who deserve to be promoted from the youth team -
  • Ben Sahar
  • kakuta
  • Franco di santo
  • Scot Sinclair

Guys what do you think about the top players we have on loan - Cresspo and Bhoularouz? Cant we just sell them to any club?
