well i think all these guys have good potentials, to think that in recent times, you would listen to some music and actually expect o hear that it is a song by Brandy, or Miss Umbrella, or even Beyonce' and suddenly the announcer say "that was a beautiful one from Kel! also known as Kelechi" u suddenly go huh???

see that is why i would dare say that all our atiste are capable of bringing home grammy, "dont doubt them" anyway sha u guys should ceck out these new artiste in town- www.thisis50.com/profile/freewindz , www.myspace.com/freewindz, support them as much as u can please by registering and becoming their friends. thanks . Please let me know if i have crossed the line here.

I feel terribly ashamed to hear people calling the likes of D'Banj when the Grammy Awards is mentioned! How could people label him as a potential grammy winner? Him wan steal am? It takes more than being a bloody entertainer to be nominated for the grammys talk more of winning.  D'Banj is just an entertainer just like so many others out there. For one to be nominated for a grammy award, u have to be a complete musician which means that u have to be able to amongst others, play an instrument, be original in your lyrics, compose, sing, entertain, perform and the likes. Now the only person close enough with these qualities is ASA and following from a way off distance, 9ice for his originality. But they still have to put in a lot of work.

You guys don't know what u are talking about.

How can you be asking this type of question? which Nigerian Artist is Capable Of Winning Grammy?
NONE of course, when we still have some yankee hip-hop artists that are yet to win it.

Stop dreaming, no nigerian artist will win it, maybe in the next 30yrs anyway. Tongue Tongue Tongue

Grammy is a big event no doubt and a big achievement for a Nigerian based ariste to win. However it is not an under achievement if a good artiste in Nigeria does not win because clearly it was not designed for artistes outside America. Artistes with successful albums like Craig David even legends like Bob Marley didn't win it. A situation where many artistes from different parts of the world  including Africa are grouped under one category of world music, makes it more of a game of luck for that category. compare this with that of MTV for example where there is a particular category for Best African Act.
As far as am concerned an artiste, that wins Artiste of the year in KORA and Best African act in MTV same yr has a greater achievement than a Nigerian based artiste that wins a Grammy for that yr

For those saying D'banj and co cannot win should have a rethink because lyrics may not be a strong factor considered, because I don't think the organisers of grammy are in the best position to access KSA's lyrics who has been nominated twice now and Mariam Makeba who has actually won it. Above lyrics I think the success of the artiste in the region will be stronger factor.

who's talking of tuface?have u heard his 'promotional album"? that guy simply lacks the class of a grammy award winner. collaborating with r.kelly don't mean shit to me,if you ask me, kels also needs a career revival,he's almost gone.   d'banj, well, not his type. what disqualifies 2face wud also disqualify 9ice and its no use analyzing p-square's chances. the only person i know that cud do it,miraculously, is asa.

After all the talks, behold no nigerian Artist can pick grammy, if to be considerate Asa is the only one who can pick it. Some one once said Baba fryo, and daddy shokey, lol.

not now grammy is highly politicised.
but someone like lagbaja, asa,, could get nominations .
Sunny Ade was nominated bcuz of his involvement in the song sang during clinton's visit while femi got his for not his works but his father's.
