well i'm presently on the mtn site and it shows that gprs IS 15k/sec so unless you
work in mtn or you have some inside gist that i'm not aware of, mtn IS CHEAPER for
browsing; for more info check this link: http://www.mtnonline.com/data/infopack.aspx
besides why will anyone want to use the normal gprs rate? it's much better to use a data
plan for browsing and as far as i know Etisalat hasn't started any yet - correct me if am
wrong. And until they start as far as browsing is concerned, Etisalat is definitely NOT the way to go

i jst checked d link http://www.mtnonline.com/data/infopack.aspx and its still 70k/kb,so where did u get your info from black weaver. I heard Etisalat is planning to roll out deir data plan very soon and let's keep our fingers crossed and see what dey've got to offer. As far as I know,I've tried everything wid MTN and I've been let down severally,it's time to for a better option,

nah we can't be talking about the same site 'cos i checked again, closed page, deleted cache and checked again still 15k/kb

however i agree with you that mtn is a serious let down ion more than one occasion i activated the 1-day 24hr data plan and
less than 6hrs later i cant seem to browse anymore, also i find out that the little credit remaining on the line has been used up
fortunately i wasn't using my main line - men those guys can be very sneaky. Am just waiting to get another handset before i get
my etisalat line

I think dats true, though i've not done a welcome back on my sim but my bro has done.I guess its because their sim card has more memory space dan d other networks sims,in addition, theY get damaged easily by all dese chinese phones wit dual sims, we all know dose phones r sub-standard,  Since my brother changed his phone to a normal NOKIA hadset, his sim card has been working perfectly.Infact,I've never experienced a problem wid my ETISALAT sim since last yr because I use a normal Motorolla Handset. I believe it has to do wid the chinese phones and the memory space of their sims.

About that 15kobo stuff,  i think that rate only applies if you have subscribed to a data plan before,  Example,  i was sent a text saying "at the expiration of your data plan you will be charged 15kobo per blah, "
