@all,

If those boys had lost gay men would have said they were young, now they won they have taken all the plaudits. Its hard to play the kids because u will never get kudos if u beat them and u get the flak if u lose to them

Its really ironic.Well said too

Develop your own kids too, poach from other academies.
Damn, do anything so that the Arsenal kids won't embarass you
or if they do, you can come up with the excuse, that your own kids too were young and still learning their trade. Grin Grin

I just knew there would be WANKathon on the Arsenal thread concerning the game last night. . . . . . .

The young lads played well, y'all can get excited by their performance but wanking over them is getting a bit OTT.
As far as i am concerned United kids > Arsenal kids.
The media cream themselves over Arsenal kids like they are 2nd to none but have these kids won any trophy in the last 2 years?? Nah!!!

United kids get more involved in bigger challenges than Arsenal's kids. How many caps did pennant, bentley have before leaving arsenal. Even the current crop how many caps do they have in the EPL. United's kids held roma to a score draw in rome last season something nobody has even tried.

United kids won the World Youth Championship in Malaysia(2007).
Arsenal got kicked out in the group stages without winning a  game but trust those London journalists to go on a WANKfest for Arsenal kids.
In their opinion, Arsenal kids are the best thing since sliced bread.

Love him or hate him but one just as to give it up for prof, he is the only coach in the premiership who as consistently fielded teenagers to play against much older and much more experienced opposition and he always manages to excel.

What has Wenger or Arsenal at large won with their teenagers?? Nothing.
They are just there for exhibition. They are yet to win anything of note under Wenger.
That was what Ray Wilkins was trying to say in his comments.

@ Sharon Tongue Huh

And following your silly analysis, (and stats) WHAT HAS THE CHELSEA RESERVES WON AS WELL?

Everyone knows Arsene uses the Milk Cup to blood in youngsters, he didin't just start it last night, so why Wilko is having a go is beyond commonsense!?

If Chelsea want to field Grand Parents who/what is stopping em from doing so? Huh

Wilko is just trying to put up a ready made reason/excuse if Chelsea are either knocked out or are left with only the Milk Cup to contest for.

AFTERALL Huh WITH ALL THEIR EXPERIENCE, THEY DIDN'T WIN SWEET F.A. LAST SEASON!? So whats he on about? Huh

that bald headed Ray Wilkins is just a hater, simple!
what is so wrong with playing teenagers in d carling cup. Nobody is saying it is wrong for chelsea to field their Drogbas and their decos vs burnley.

If respect means that sending our kids against grown-up teams and tearing them to shreds then yes, we do not have respect.
but he is wrong in many ways, here are two:
1. By sending our kids into a comeptiton we show them our respect by letting them take responsibility and represent the club in a cup-competition UNTIL AND INCLUDING the final, win or lose!

2. Chelsea is no big club

Hell, United fans don't even get overexcited about their yung'uns like Gaynners do so what the heck are you on about??
The aim of any serious manager is to win a competition not exhibition of talents that would never win anything.
Whatz the point in beating Wigan n Sheffield United without winning the Carling Cup. . . .
Besides, how many of those players would break into Arsenal's first team when the moneybags come for them at the end of the season??

The way Arsenal is managed is nuthing to write home about and Y'ALL KNOW IT.

Chelsea fans don't gloat about their kids, BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T ANY OF NOTE Huh

Like i said, who is stopping them from fielding whomever they please, did anyone force Brucey to field the selection he did last night Huh If the Arsenal lads had been beaten, would they not get the media bashing Huh

Just bollocks if you ask me Tongue Wilko (Bless his souls) just wants to be heard Tongue Just like that Dumbo Essien Tongue WHAT IS IT WITH THE CHELSEA TEAM AND ARSENAL ALL OF A SUDDEN Huh Even in POrt Chelsea fans are becomeing irritants Huh Tongue Tongue I just don't get it Huh

u'll probably wont see chelsea fans go on a WANKFEST. Boy, they've got no youth system. so when they win matches with their established players, it is expected they win those matches. its no news!

i just think d whole comment was just silly. We may play our kids, but this policy is all about developing younger players. 4 semi finals and 1 final in 6 years is a pretty fair record?? It is also exciting to see young ENGLISH players given the opportunity to show their talents. I could even try 2 understand if this statement came from a united bench, at least they have an impressive youthful squad as well lately, but chelsea plsssssssss,

Stop displaying your ignorance, PH geezer. . . .
Wilkins was talking about this competiton(Carling Cup). . . .A title that continues to evade Arsene Wenger and his overhyped kids.
Chelsea have won it TWICE in the last four years so Wilkins is right to say Arsenal is just mucking about with their kids.

They wouldn't get any media bashing. . . . . .Afterall, Arsene Wenger continues to use these kids every season and they haven't won the competition but we still hear the same thing from the crazed media. . . . . I had to turn down the volume of ma TV set when the commentator was wanking openly about Vela and Wilshere. I turned it up again after the end of the first half but guess what?? During the half time, Charlie Nicholas in his analysis went glorious and compared Vela to Leo Messi(Can u beat that??)

United kids have won everything under the sun and we don't gloat about these kids the way Arsenal fans and the media do.
I remember Ferguson played kids some years back in one of the cup competitions and the moronic and spastic sports journalists went for his neck saying he has disrespected the English competition by playing his under 19 lads.
Wenger is doing the same thing now and Vela is Messi and Jay Simpson is Kaka.

So Arsene's aim is to play in the semi finals and not win the competition?? Why bother in the first place??
Arsenal should opt out and play exhibition matches at the Emirates for football neutrals to enjoy.
Turn the Emirates to a playground/cinema where people can come and just watch sexy football instead of competing if their objective is to be semifinalists and runners-up.

at the risk of sounding disrespectful, u know in your guts as well as i do that the carling is a less prestigous cup. hence big clubs have afforded 2 field weaker sides in them. 4 4uck sakes utd has won the trophy only twice in its over 45 years history with 4 runners up spots, same as arsenal. So why not not play these teens in this competitions.

So if your grudge is, that these teens are overhyped and over praised, whose fault is that? certainly not the fans. When d likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and even Utd start fielding a team with an average age of 18, in cup competitions, and the deserving hype from d media accompanies it, then u wont be complaining tht much.

young players get compared to succesful players all the time, live with it.

The fact still remains Arsene Wenger(lover of kids) is YET to win it.
One would assume a club that went 3 seasons without a single title would do everything possible to win something to break the spell.
Has Arsene Wenger learnt any lesson?? I don't think so.

Less prestigious cup or not, if Arsenal had won the carling cup consecutively in 2006, 2007 and 2008, no one would be pressurising Gaynners for going trophyless. . . . . .The English league has stepped up and any title(no matter how small) is an achievement.
I would rather Man Utd win the least prestigious title every season than win NOTHING!!!

I have no grudge against Arsenal kids. . . . . . .They are several light years below United kids so i got nuthing against them.
How can i compare Wenger's kids to CYC champions(Man Utd). . . .It's like comparing Derby County to Man Utd. Grin
One can understand if these kids have conquered their reserves league(where their mates play) and Arsene decides to test their skills against the big sides.

In fact, Wenger's kids have been a massive failure in the FA youth cup, reserves league and all other youth competitions in England so whatz the sense in testing them against the big sides in the Premier league.
If any club should be playing under 19 against Premiership sides at all, it should be Man Utd, Liverpool, Reading FC and prolly Tottenham.
Let Arsenal kids win something amongst their mates before pushing em to compete against the top sides.

u can't tell me arsenal has been a failure in the FA youth cup. they've won it 6 times 2nd only to (hate to admit it) Utd's 9 times, but still thts not failure to me.

like i said b4, its probably only united that can probably tell me that they too deserve the "hype" ( since that is what its all about), and i may agree. def not chelsea. but if united are reluctant 2 play their teenagers in higher tournaments like the CC other than just the FA youth cup n reserve leagues, and arsenal does and whip teams in d process, they deserve the praise and the hype.

I am talking about the present bunch. . . . .The last time Wenger's kids won the competition was in 2001.
It means the school of 2002 till date have been a massive failure and that includes Wilshere, Merida, Simpson and other dudes.
The question remains. . . . .why does Wenger play these young lads in a competition they can NEVER win??

We don't even want the hype.
United kids won in Malaysia last year in a competition that had Wenger's kids, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax, Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Porto, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
Now, thatz what you call a competition not carling cup battle with an insipid Wigan Athletic.
