The best way to make Nairaland better is to frequently contribute quality content to the forum! Quality content usually comes in the form of original articles containing useful information, but sometimes it also comes in form of a question that motivates other people to contribute useful information. The following posts are examples of what I mean by quality content: This list is definitely not exhaustive, but it is certainly instructive! The most important thing you can do to make the forum better is to share very useful content. The Nairaland Forum is a place to share useful information with fellow Nigerians.

The second most important way to promote this Forum is by encouraging other people you know to visit this forum, register and participate regularly. You are specifically encouraged to invite: DOMAIN EXPERTS (ref): People with special knowledge or skills in a particular area. It doesn't matter whether they are professionals or enthusiasts; what matters is the knowledge or experience that these people have, and their willingness to share such knowledge with the rest of us! They can establish themselves as authorities in their respective fields by participating actively. FAMOUS PEOPLE: Feel free to invite eople who are widely recognized in the society (Nigerian celebrities) to join Nairaland and participate actively. Movie stars, musicians, popular authors, high-ranking politicians, TV Show Hosts, et cetera. Famous people don't have to reveal their identities when they participate on this forum; Nairaland gives them the opportunity to just be themselves, and be appreciated for who they are! PEOPLE CLOSE TO YOU: You are encouraged to invite people who are close to you to join the forum. Your husband, wife, boyfriends/girlfriends, friends, church-pals, pen-pals, family friends and relatives, siblings, or even parents are all welcome! This forum is a large, heterogenous community with people from various backgrounds. With people you know on the forum, you will feel certainly more at home! In any community, it pays to have one or people around who understand you very well! BUSINESS PERSONS: Entrepreneurs, directors, business owners, investors, contractors, promoters, administrators, managers; people of influence in the workplace. Nairaland provides a forum where they can interact with hundreds of current or potential customers and get valuable feedback on products or services they offer or plan to offer. Don't be afraid to invite your boss to Nairaland. Who knows; he/she might discover something that will turn your company around! LEADERS: Executives of church groups, youth groups, clubs, course representatives, etc. JOURNALISTS: People of the media, so they can write about us. Please feel free to suggest other classes of people who should be targetted by the forum. Thanks!

Our hundreds of members did not decide to join because they are less busy. They decided to join because of what they can gain from the forum! What each person takes home is more than what he contributes, because information doesn't get diminished when it's shared! Nairaland is about sharing! I'd like to encourage any guest on this forum not to feel too busy to register. Nairaland is for the young and old, busy people and people who are not busy. We embrace the employed, the unemployed, and the employers! Nobody is too small to join, nobody is too big to join; just make sure you are a Nigerian! (people who want to talk with Nigerians about Nigeria are also invited)

Why not make use of the vast resources the web provides? Am sure there are members who would be willing to spare time to help develop the forum. Most fora on the web grow over time due to members finding something that draws them there on a daily basis. I think this is a good site to learn about what is happening in Nigeria especially for those of us outside Nigeria.
My advice, keep it going the way it is, don't make too many changes at once, people normally resist change and on the web, if a site doesnt interest users again, they just drift away.

I agree with Jogego. Members can be use to make forum better. For starter Seun can deligate some of the moderating work to some senior members. And I'm sure other ways can be found for others to make input.

A number of people have volunteered to take part in moderation. This has been noted and after we go commercial we will move into that and make sure we give out little tokens to say 'thank you' to these people.

Please do like some forums do and make a feature available to "block" out certain posters from your view so what ever they write never shows up on your computer! This will save a lot of posters from reading mine too. The feeling is very mutual! Have you ever heard of an "ignore" list? This website is too big and everyone would be happy to have that feature. There are like 20,000-50,000 names I would like to feature on my ignore list to save me the problem of reading their rubbish! Thank you very much!

All the fyne ones you have "cornered" what did you do with them? Xiomarra u'd be on the ignore list of 95% of people here. Acidrop, make sure there are fine sisters here before you plead for fine brothers. I don't see more than a tiny number of cute chics. All the better. Do I look or sound like I need them? Or their cheap attention? Please make it 100% if you can. Life would be fantastic for me. As you can see other attack my posts and I do not even care if they are dead or alive! I am hear to post shit and shit alone. I have no business with idiots really. But one thing for sure. You ain't going to be on that list shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugar. I have you under ma radar ALWAYS! More than a tiny number you say? I think it is directly proportional to the "Osuofia" look alikes you have on this website! Fair then.

Apparently, like everything Nigerian. . . Nairaland cannot be made a better "concept"! Constant requests to hire moderators, no referees, no spiritual counsellors, no rehabilitation centers for the depressed. No marriages from all the constant YIMMINGS and YAMMINGS. Heartache and misery all over the website. Frustration and dejection all over the place. What would Jesus do I ask? Any hope for Nairaland?

sorry o,but i only made a comment,u don't have to shoot me down, a lot of networks do have rude people but the diffrence is that they are tolerated/condoned on here and its like once you're an old member and you're really outspoken thenu get the most brownie points, i havnt seen a lot of that on other networks
