lol na real shame. I don't think he's necessarily been that great though . . . he has so many weapons and options, heck even Cutler could be a star QB with the Viking line-up okay maybe I'm kidding with Cutler, even Jason Campbell would be great with the Vikings . . . why that dude still has the starting job is beyond me.

Greg Olsen even showed up yesterday. I'm not worried. the browns should be worry about their QB's though. the law of averages says kyle orton would come back down to normal.

@Agathamari Welcome to the club!! Could you raise your golden/yellow terrible towel twist it round your hand and wave it like a helicopter like a true Steeler would
@Jesoul Lets be fair to Favre though on his day even Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would pay homage and i still think the Packers did him greasy after leading them to 13-3 and the NFC Championship game in 08. They say Men lie Women lie numbers don't the Packers are 10-16 since he left and Favre is 16-8! They have not been better without him and for now and barring any spectacular upgrades. A-Rodge is still an apprentice to Favre. Oo si n ko se (e still dey learn work) We go do freedom party for am when he leads the Packers to the playoffs

My brother, for how long were the Packers supposed to be held hostage to Favre? He retired, cried during the press conf and all and they moved on, only for his behind to show up at training camp and demand he be annointed once again with the starting job? He shoulda humbled himself and competed with Rodgers for it like they offered instead of turing his nose up in the air in diva-like indignation and stomping his feet like the spolied bratt that he is. Numbers or no numbers, I support the Packers decision. Athletes no matter how accomplished should know they are not above the game . . . just like Manny with the Red Sox. We lost huge #s after we got got rid of him but to me it was addition by subtraction. Not their best performance but the Saints keep marching on . . . . . . . one game at a time.
Geaux Saints!
WHO DAT?? lol . . . these Saints are frightening though. I don't think anyone can stop this run they're on. See Brees looking like a combination of Brady and Peyton throwing accurate passes to guys with triple coverage . . . they have the chance to go all the way this yr.

Lemme play devil's advocate here. . Favre was and had been their franchise QB for eons the truth is that franchise is probably never going to have any player as good as Favre and despite his drama he was doing the bidness on the football field and was still somewhat productive. Now with all that he had done at Green Bay its only normal that he would feel insulted for having to compete for a starting job with Rodgers who was practically an unknown at the time. Its easy for us to stand from the outside and criticize but place yourself in his shoes. Would you happily compete with or deputize for someone you know you are better than? He is no saint though but these things happen and sometimes we forget these athletes are human too

@JeSoul- I sincerely hope you are right.
I am a long time supporter of the ‘Black and Gold’ and have had my share of disappointments. After riding out the last few minutes of the Atlanta game on the edge of my chair, I can’t help but be a pessimist and remember years gone by when they would play down and choke in the stretch and loose games they should have won.
As you alluded to, they have a combination of players with the right chemistry to go all the way. Me, I will be taking it one game at a time and pray that they deliver…….

I think the Packers were simply fed up, and rightfully so. This was the 3rd or 4th time he'd retired and decided to come back . . . even the most amicable of relationships would be strained due to such indecisiveness. He shoulda kissed and made up instead of demanding out . . . the spoiled Bratt. @JeSoul- I sincerely hope you are right.

My dear that's the story of so many teams . . . luck does play a role in it all. Staying healthy, deflected passes that turn into interceptions, 3rd down and inches that could not be advanced, holding and passer interference penalties that on replay don't seem so bad . . . on and on. But I am certainly rooting for NO, they are one team I would love to see successful after all the heartache that city has seen recently.

This week go sweet well well. Texans @ Colts: 8-0 Ravens @ Bengals: Have the Raven turned the corner and are back to the Ravens we expected? Are the Bengals here for real? Should be a great divisional game, with lots of 'in your face', 'smash mouth' hits. Dolphins @ Pats: Wild cat running game in the snow? After a couple of cheap games help them find thei8r groove, time to see how Brady does against a defence that can bring pressure. Nice build up to week 10 against the colts. Chargers @ Giants: New york faces another good passing team who can exploit their weak secondary. Giants 5-4? Cowboys @ Eagles: Romo + the beastly Eagles D = INTs galore MNF Steelers @ Broncos: Can Denver bounce back from their first loss, or has baltimore given pittsburgh the template to deal with the broncos. Another Bronco loss and a Chargers win , and the divisonl top spot starts to reopen.

Should be a great divisional game, with lots of 'in your face', 'smash mouth' hits. I hope the Bengals humble the Ravens so more. Dolphins @ Pats: Wild cat running game in the snow? After a couple of cheap games help them find thei8r groove, time to see how Brady does against a defence that can bring pressure. Nice build up to week 10 against the colts. Wonders shall indeed never end . . . a Colts fan is talking 'bout another team having "cheap games" when they themselves just barely afforded a win against the 9ers last game day. Chargers @ Giants: New york faces another good passing team who can exploit their weak secondary. Giants 5-4? Giants 5-4! Cowboys @ Eagles: Romo + the beastly Eagles D = INTs galore Amen, let it be so. MNF Steelers @ Broncos: Can Denver bounce back from their first loss, or has baltimore given pittsburgh the template to deal with the broncos. Another Bronco loss and a Chargers win , and the divisonl top spot starts to reopen. I dunno . . . If push came to shove, I'd take Denver over Pittsburgh who are yet to show us something spectacular this season.

This week is hot!
Chargers vs Giants: The Giants should win this or maybe not cos Eli Manning's footwork is letting him down but its down to their defence to help when all else fails still u expect the G-men to win and snap the losing run
Ravens vs Bengals: Hmm this is a toughie but i kinda feel the Ravens got a huge boost beating the Broncos and would ride on that and beat the Bengals well thats if Cedric Benson and Ocho Cinco don't have other plans
Broncos vs Steelers: I expect my boys to be too strong for Orton and co. We got to watch out for Royal and Scheffler though. We should win by at least a TD
Bears vs Cardinals: We ain't fooled anyone can beat the Browns at home the Bears should bow to the superior firepower of the Cards
Eagles vs Cowboys: The Eagles D-Line should be too strong i expect Romo to still have nightmares from his last trip to Philly and they also got a beast in DeSean Jackson who should be too much for the Boys defence

Ravens 0 - 17 Bengals Ravens offense are really struggling while the defense is not holding up well. Bengals are making a strong bid for the playoffs, and only Steelers stand in their way for the division title. After Steelers next week, Bengals have only 2 more tough games (Chargers and Vikings).

There are two requirements to stand a chance of beating the colts: 1. An effective running game - Pats are averaging just 4.1yd/A, which is just decent 2. Ability to bring pressure on Manning without blitzing - Pats have only 15 sacks so far. Manning is supposed to struggle against 3-4 defenses, but the Pats line doesnt have anyone that would require double teaming. They will need to rush at least 5 to put pressure on manning. On the flip side, Brady will need to be mobile against Freeney and Mathis. If Brady can get decent pocket coverage, he should be able to exploit the young Colts corners Still, these teams have played each other so often that they are almost like divisional rivals. It will boil down to execution, and I feel Indy have the edge at this stage in the season (Pats dont seem to be in full gear yet). Colts 9-0
