Do you know what you are talking about??? isn't mark thatcher a british citizen??? or did he commit a crime in the US? geez , be quiet will ya, and by the way, what's with all this renewed sense of patriotism, nigeria is an extremely corrupt country and here you have people being patriotic all of a sudden. Bros, try to read earlier posts before you interject. Who said mark thatcher isn't british? or that he commited a crime in the us? But he's not a black man. If he were, FBI, CIA and Scotland Yard would have been intrested in his case. It's the reason that he's british he was able to walk away free. Nigerian Leaders are extremely corrupt, we agree and we know, but are you going to stoop so low as to tell america to come and rid your coountry of your corrupt leaders for you because you cannot do it yourselves? NIGERIANS SHOULD (AND WE DEFINITELY WILL VERY SOON), SIT DOWN AND SORT OUT NIGERIA'S PROBLEMS OURSELVES, WHATEVER IT'S GOING TO TAKE. And what makes you think america or fbi are morally right and must do that for you, or do you think america is the most righteous nation? If you do, then you are the one who's missed it. Apart from encouraging fbi to come and arrest your leaders, what have you, davidif, done to stop corruption in nigeria?

mr. bodisbobo how long are we going to wait to start sending the likes of IBB and Obasanjo and Odili to maximum security prisons on jail sentences of 25 years to life? 10,20 years. This is a country with an incredibly horrible justice system ( http://www.economist.com/world/mideast-africa/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11506783 )so that's not going to happen anytime soon since everybody in politics is dirty. You also said we should sit down and solve Nigeria's problems, we have not done anything yet in 48 years of independence what makes you think we ar going to do that anytime soon? probably when my grandkids are running for Nigerian senate by then this failed state would cease to exist by then.

Well, I hardly know what to say in this situation. I mean, I know damn well that if this investigation is left in the hands of any Nigerian agency that we can as well kiss the criminals involved goodbye. So my better instinct is telling me that the investigation should be left in competent and unbiased hands (I'm not saying FBI or whatever agency that is involved would not be biased to a degree but we would atleast have results at the end of the day). But my patriotic instinct on the other hand is telling me that we should show some pride and tell them to buzz off. So that's my dilemma.

The other day I saw the charred remains of two teenagers on the road. Of course the crowds as usual were gawking at the gory sight. On asking somebody there they told me they stole recharge cards worth a thousand and something naira. And so were lynched by the BAKASSI MOBS. I kept on wondering what had become of the great leaders that had stoled us blind in this country. ARE ALL MEN REALLY EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW?

all these Nigerian journalists and their yarns The FBI has no jurisdiction outside US borders except on US property, like Navy ships or military bases when did Nigerian ministry of whatever become US property. THAT ARTICLE WAS PUT TOGETHER BY A PISS-POOR JOURNALIST about the Jack Stanley, Albert 'Jack' Stanley From SourceWatch Jump to: navigation, search Albert 'Jack' Stanley was, until December 2003, chairman of Halliburton Company subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root. For several months afterwards, until his termination, he served as a "consultant." He is also a longtime friend and associate of US vice-president privates Cheney. [1] In July 2004, Capitol Hill Blue reported on an investigation by a French judge into a $180 million 'slush fund' alleged to have been used to pay bribes connected to the construction of the Bonny Island liquified natural gas plant by the TSKJ consortium (KBR is the "K") in Nigeria. According to the report, "London Lawyer Jeffrey Tesler, a consultant to Halliburton, admitted under oath in May that he made payments from the fund to Albert 'Jack' Stanley, The payments, Tesler said, were personally approved by Cheney, who headed Halliburton at the time." [2] The Capitol Hill Blue report further alleged that "At least $5 million in payments to Stanley from the fund were wired to a secret numbered bank account in Zurich which Judge Ruymbeke discovered belonged to the KBR President, Halliburton publicly announced on June 18 it was 'severing all ties' with Stanley, admitting he had received 'improper personal benefits' while serving as President of KBR, French Judge Ruymbeke (sic), however, is said to be offering Stanley a deal if he implicates Cheney and sources within the French legal system say the judge has more than enough to indict the Vice President on charges of bribery, money laundering and misuse of corporate assets." [3] According to press reports, some of the payments from the slush fund went to numbered Swiss bank accounts of Stanley and other KBR insiders. These payments are generally presumed to be the aforementioned "improper personal benefits" which led to their terminations. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Albert_%27Jack%27_Stanley

This crime happened many months back, and the american senator that was involved was sentenced, while his nigeria counterparts were being protected by some top government officials, tell me is that justice, when do u think this people will dance to the tune of their own rhythm. let's be fair, forget about the grudges u have against united states(US). this is not a nigerian problem base on what some nairalanders said, it involved other nationalties too u know, so they have to be prosecuted in any way that''ll bring about justice. or do u have family members involved.
