Help With My Project

I am presently working on a project, I want to build an website which will have users profiles in it. just like Hi5 does, but it wont be so complex as hi5. Please I would like u all to help me with guidelines on how to go about it.

Also if there are any already-made scripts i could use please provide me with information.
