Purpose of Role/Context/Scope
Nigeria is currently the world’s third largest market for the Guinness Brand and plans to become the largest in the next five years.
Projects are managed by HQ engineering team while offshore aspects of major projects; are principally managed by Diageo Business Engineering.
ØTo develop and implement the Capex programme delivering capacity, cost, quality improvements ahead of forecast demand, ensuring that GN standards are maintained. ØDeliver projects within budgets ØThe Project Engineering Team also develops engineers for placement in operational roles. Key Accountabilities 1. Support the Corporate Project Manager in the definition of a 5-year rolling Capex programme that supports the Strat Plan. 2. Develop Capex Approval Requests in conjunction with the users that fully define scope, budget, programme and a financial appraisal for led projects. 3. Implement approved projects and progress through to completion on time, in budget and that the stated objectives and GN Engineering/ Risk Mgt. Standards are achieved. 4. Hand over completed projects to the users 5. Accountable to the corporate Project Manager and Plant Managers for delivery of projects on time on budget with all stated deliverable on trade. Dimensions
Annual Capex budget for industrial capex around N2.7billion. Project manager will be accountable for around 40% of this.
Project team varies from 5 – 50 people directly under PM’s control.
Financial To manage projects range from N15m to N500+m.
Plan and manage implementation of project budgets
Negotiate with 3rd party services through procurement
Market Complexity Guinness Nigeria has an aggressive expansion programme to increase current capacity from 2.6m hectolitres to 5.5.m hectolitres over the next 5 years requiring an investment of £120m.

Qualifications and Experience Required ØDegree in Engineering, Preferably Mechanical ØProfessional Engineer (Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN registered). ØWorking towards professional Project Management qualification ØFive years’ experience in a brewing or FMCG manufacturing environment in a project management role. Operational experience is desired. ØTrack record of delivering multiple projects ranging from Turnkey to self managed ØExperienced in Auto card application

Context/Scope

Guinness Nigeria has an aggressive expansion programme to increase current capacity from 2.8m hls to 5.5m hls over the next 5 years requiring an investment of £166m.
This initiative will increase GN’s environmental responsibility and will require concerted efforts of personnel to manage the challenges that will arise there from
Key Accountabilities · Implementing and maintaining of GN Environmental Management System. · Ensure that legislative requirement are met. · Accurately reporting monthly GNPLC’s Environmental performance. · Carry out environmental auditing of all GN plc sites and monitor corrective action plan. · Represent GNPLC’s interests at various industry forums. · Specifying and co-ordinating the purchase of requisite Environmental equipment for all GNPLC operations. · Effective communication of GN plc environmental responsibility to interested stakeholders.

Should be able to develop and maintain Guinness Nigeria Environmental Management System
Develop and train the Site Safety Health and Environment Managers in Environment-related issues.
Manage compliance with Nigeria Environmental regulations and laws.
Develop a culture of Environmental awareness throughout the GNPLC organisation.
Advise and monitor waste minimisation programmes, effluent treatment, air emission management and raw material management.
Qualifications and Experience Required
· A good degree in Engineering or Science based subject with a Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Environmental Management. · Member of Nigerian Institute of Food science and Technology. · A minimum of 4 years working experience in a manufacturing industry · Good interpersonal skilled. · Good Communicator. · Self-starter. · Live the Diageo values Understands links between own role and overall Diageo strategy.
