nice try codename,  but what's with your grass, what type of texture did you apply.

suggestion, try making some color correction in photoshop if you know how to do it, decrease the brightness and tweak some color setting to get realistic image

try increasing the bump map to make the road tiles more real. i try to assume u only use Vray skylight or are u lighting with HDR image?

try posting your setting let's seee. but nice try and keep it more, Vray can do marvelous stuff and incredible photorealistic pictures.

check my cute room Vray 3Dmax 9

Settings
      image sampling , QMC Adaptive
Lighting ,  Skylight with multiplier of 4
Indirect illumination ,  primary bouce (irradiance map)
      Metrials ,  Vtl Materials

Note that the scene has no light, only make use of the skylight that refract through the mirror. i will also be working on the night scene which we will have blue light reflection from outside room.

billie! i will make few comment on your scene above, or if u dont mind i like u to send the 3D file to me, i will work on it and revert with explanation. day scene are easier with Vray while night scene are much of technicalities.

wat software did u use to model?

Alright Sir,

your confession is right? but it depends on the feel of the scene, take a look well, there are shadows, bros check my settings nowww Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
no lighting only illumination from skylight and the scene is interior trying to illuminate itself with the light from outside, and you are a exprience Vray and Skylight user then we both know that skylight only produce soft shadows not hard, notice the direction of shadows is inline with the direction of light.

from Maya GI Setting will be photo rays, more photo rays.

software = 3D Max9, Vray 1.5.

Thank you sir,   8)tunslike

V Ray is just an advanced rendering engine that has a lot of computation to simulate the way light is actually reflected, refracted, diffused, etc. Really cool. I am sre you are familiar with the terms Global Illumination, Caustics, Area shadows, etc. Rendering engines like Vray, Mental ray and Renderman make them easier.
For example your render above. It needs global illumination to properly disperse the lights as in the real world. That would get rid of the harsh shadows and the overall harshness of the image. A simple default skylight in 3dmax could improve it a great deal.
I remember when I was learning max before the skylight was introduced. There was a trick i used to use where i would create a dome of lights to light up the scene. It has faster rendering but the image doesnt look as good. Good for all those sharp-sharp jobs.

Nice work. One final touch though, add a light mist to the overall scene, thicker at the bottom and fades out at the top. Do you do animation? But PH far oh.U dont come to Lagos?

This was also done in 3dmax. I am also good in animated effects for movies, it is a shot from a simulated explosion that
resulted into a wild fire.

And,  since we seem to be talking about external rendering, this is a short from a movie i am working on. It is supposed to be
the gates of heaven but, i still have to tweak it. I am sure outputing these in vray would have given me better results.

What do you think folks?
