i think its best to specify the video format your phone uses first because some software may encode video that may not work wit your fones codec. it could be 3gp, xvid/divx,mp4, avi,amv etc. so far as i can tell i think 3gp offers the best compression ratio (something like 10:1) and some players come wit mp4 codec preinstalled(realone and pvplayer). so check first then google for the format converter or get back here. someone may already hav the software.

use windows movie maker! it comes with windows XP! that's what i used for my video compression, its really good!

WMM doesnt hav a great generic converter so there are issues with mpeg2 if u try to rip dvds. also its colors sometimes go weird and still doesnt support .mov format. maybe u can try adobe premier
