I just joined this Forum, and this is actually my first Post, Indeed I must say that Nigeria has great potential in the World of ICT and Mobile Technology, many of the stake holders in this burgeoning sector have for themselves acquired behemoths of riches therein...I just came in Owerri, and I manually set up my Phone which is run by the MTN Network for the GPRS/MMS and its working perfectly...even though the adverts still display only "available in Abuja, Lagos, and Port-Harcourt"...I shall speak in more, when responses are made...For now I shall hold my peace...

Indeed mobile Technology has come to stay in Nigeria. Competition is really good for the Telecommunications Industry because it's actually responsible for these improvements and I'ld welcome more of it. One thing I believe they should work more on is their services and coverage areas.

In view of this reality, One must take hold of the objectivity that is laid before us, whilst it is still within the bounds of prospective vistas...Once again, I am compelled to say, that though we Nigerians have had our fair share of Technological breakthroughs in the past say 3-4 years I believe there is still a lot of space to cover, BeholdĀ a lot...I happened to be Computer Science major Student, and before I chose that as my course of study I embarked on a personal tutorial, from whence I laid grasp of major ICT principles and imbibed Programming and Scripting languages for Web Developing and Database programming...and if I must add these knowledge thought me in no small of the ideals of ICT in the present dispensation, it is the key to uphold mankinds relevance, and if I am allowed to speak freely, then I must say...Welcome to the New World Order.
Ps;thanks to those who replied to my 1st posted message, hot-angel and De-king

i agree with you very much. most monies made in this sector goes to the 'foriegn experts'. I do hope very soon will start to look inward, especially at our own engineers!

I agree, but its generally an under-utilized technology. Most people merely make calls on their mobiles. Yet the technology holds much greater potentials beyond voice and SMS.
