Nigeria!s 48th Independence Do We Have A Course To Celebrate?
« on: September 27, 2008, 08:38 PM »

A few days from today, nigeria will be 48 years post independence. With the pligth faced by the common man and the fedral government still strogling to put essential infractructure like good roads, portable water, electricity, education for all, health care insurance, etc. Do we really have anything to celebrate? If a man at 48 is not able to meet up with any of the above domestic need in his home what do the society call him? a full at 40s or-----. COMENTS please.

the day is to commemorate independence and not the current government.  i don't see why the current state of nigeria minimizes what the likes of herbert macaulay fought for.

yeah we should celebrate because
1)we are not at war like some other African countries
2)our economy is not in shambles like Zimbabwe
3)There is a general gradual but progressive change(telecoms, investment, banking, entertainment and many more)
4) there is an increase in awareness that we need a change and got to move forward.
