Re: Is It Mandatory For Women To Wear Hijab
Yes, on every muslim woman, Hijab is Obligatory.
Make up is allowed as long as it doesnt contain haram products like pork fat and so on

It is mandatory to wear hijab, when going out or when indoors and there are strange men around.
Wearing make-up is permissible, infact, encouraged, especially for married women, in their homes, to beautify themselves for their husbands. When going out, the make -up and other adornments should be concealed in the hijab.

It is mandatory to wear hijab, when going out or when indoors and there are strange men around. there are strange women around though, why shouldn't men wear ninja outfit too then?? the use of the hijab is more cultural than religious. middle-eastern temperatures influenced the use of the hijab.

Even though I was encouraged so many times by my father and family (by father side) i never attended a mosque. however, i think with all the bickering on this form b/ween Christians and Muslims, I felt it necessary to visit a mosque. I wanted to personally experience, observe and most of all do it for my father. I deliberately wore a knitted hat just to see the reaction. Well the moment I entered, I was greeted by a sister who gave me a head-scarf and helped me to learn how to place it appropriately on my head. I felt very uncomfortable at first but got so comfy that I forgot I was wearing the head-scarf. Oh did I mentioned I removed my shoes. Yes, Ola was right the mosques was fairly multicultural, and sure enough there were women from many different countries and backgrounds wearing different styles of Islamic clothing and hijab. Some were fully covered (if u know what i mean) from head to toe. I was greeted with smiles of welcome and I enjoyed seeing the different shades of skin of all ages in one room. That moment, my fear went straight through the window and love and warmth came into my heart. We were separated from the men but the message was clear where we were. I was wondering if Ola told them I was coming b/c I felt the message was for me. He encourage us to enter worship positively and focused and not what we know as outside gossip (I think he meant the headline news, tv internet etc). Then we went into prayer. There was peace/unity. On my way home, I felt bad about how silly I had been in my thoughts. To be honest, I was kind of a skeptical and thinking the worst thoughts. I was like suppose they capture me and didn't welcome me. I realized that despite my strong views toward discrimination, yesterday I myself had been the most discriminatory with a biased view. I am glad I chose to attend the mosque b/c I learned that they are no less peaceful than you or I, and neither more nor less ordinary than any member of the christian churches or should I say society. I hope one day that all of us live in unity and peace whether we are blacks, whites, light-skinned Jews, Gentiles, Protestants, Muslims, Christian and Catholics. peace

Well, I'm really glad that your experience was rewarding. I doubt that Olabs told then you were coming unless of course you told him the exact day and time. We should ask him I'm glad they had a good sermon on the day you visited. Thank you for your honesty in reporting your experience. pssstttt, hijab does make you look sexy if you are confident.

ok O Ayinba I have nothing against a hijab as long it's not forced on people. That's what I'm against. Muslim ladies that want to look well groomed and modern can do so and no one should force them into any outfits and of course no Muslims should force Christians in their territories to wear any type of clothing.
Look at this Igbo girl for instance, her hair is right, her outfit is decent and not offensive at all. and she looks alive! the girl I had above is very pretty but looks unhappy.

@Plus_Queen: « #18 on: Yesterday at 11:28:55 PM » ok O Ayinba I have nothing against a hijab as long it's not forced on people.
Who appointed you a muslim police or a spoke person for muslim woman, considering that you and us don't "yoke," together? Orisi risi from Nigeria people! That's what I'm against.
Who cares, because your opinion does not count. You think this is Christianity, where Paul who used to be Saul, overrides Jesus' all day long? Come on, lady with the long "Trail!" Muslim ladies that want to look well groomed and modern can do so and no one should force them into any outfits
Who tells you women have to expose/flash, before she is "look well groomed and modern"? When did you become the mouth piece or the voice of "reason," since you see 3 gods in the place of One Full God? This afternoon, I remembered some of my Christian "High School hymms." One was about " The Immortal and Invisible God, Holy and Wise." I got thinking; does Jesus fit any of the descriptions/qualifications? The answer is no. And I dare you to challenge me. I know am roughling feathers that you probably think already preen! Answer anyhow. and of course no Muslims should force Christians in their territories to wear any type of clothing.
You love double talking too much. On one hand you are dictating the clothing of muslim women, when you are not a muslim. On the other hand, you are restricting what muslims should do with nonmuslims in her territory. Do you want the Muslims in nonmuslim communities to go about nude, as defined by Qur'an? Like the people who are in not shameful? Look at this Igbo girl for instance, her hair is right, her outfit is decent and not offensive at all. and she looks alive!
Thats you, igbo woman? I think you are giving us hints. Too much artificial hair. Is like the old saying; something new, something old and something borrowed. the girl I had above is very pretty but looks unhappy.
You must be a good shrink who can diagonise a person from just looking at her picture. Except the muslim woman does not need any diagonisis. The person who diagonised the late Schaivo by just her video, a higher grade of medium than just the picture, is no more in the US senate. lol.

Woman, a woman does not have to be in the buff, before you know that she is nude! Have you heard the term the "Emperor with any cloth"? Now Yoruba people have an adage that talks about nakedness without being in the buff; Firi firi o jo, oko lonbo. It simply means transparency is not like without any covering! But now, is the covering that is transparent hiding anything? Thats nudity! And by the way, my love of women start with Yoruba women before others. Remember that my beloved mother is a pure Yoruba woman. But then I love muslim women Yoruba woman after my mother, before any tribe. And I will leave your attempt of "igbo temptation," alone, for you to wonder. lol. Finally anyone who flunts her jewels for all to see is nude in my book. And I am a very liberal man. But I also have bashfulness. I have seen it all. Nothing new to me.

Honestly, I don't know why some people bother too much about things that do not concern them.Hijab is mandatory on all muslim women. And by choosing the religion, you are committing yourself to its rules and regulations.Alot of western propaganda has made alot of people feel downgraded by the hijab.I've been wearing hijab for the past seven(7) years. And by hijab I mean completely covered from head to toe except for the face(which is only cultural).I go out with it even to places alot of people would not dare to.And I wear all types of clothes-of course where only my mahrams will see. And Alhamdulillah I'm loving it.And the best part of it is that it boosts my confidence. And I'll stand up anywhere and say I AM PROUD OF MY HIJAB AND I'M GLAD I'M A MUSLIM.

Grin Yeye girl . You should know that anything forced on someone would not last because it would be like compelling the person against her wish and the person would always abuse it because there is no understanding on why it should be worn but the best thing would be to sit the person, tell her the pride of wearing one, the confidence, the beauty, security, benefits etc and pronto, the lady is already wearing one. Kai, who would not want to be married to a Priceless, bundle of talents called Mukina? . Hope your Nna never relent because I am still very much around the corner for you
