Are You A Thinker Or A Feeler?
« on: July 16, 2006, 10:05 PM »

Thinkers tend to be firm, cool, reserved, analytical, and are convinced by logical reasoning.
If you are a Thinker, you make decisions based primarily on objective and impersonal criteria--what makes the most sense and what is logical.
•  You value truth.
•  You are driven by your rational mind.
•  You use logic in making decisions.
•  You consider other people's reasoning.
•  You notice wrong reasoning.
•  You are cool, reserved, and independent.
•  You tend to see flaws.
•  You are fair.
•  You are honest, direct, and objective.
•  You are naturally critical.
•  You choose truthfulness over tactfulness.
•  You deal with people firmly, as needed.
•  You use justice in dealing with others.
•  You are motivated by achievement.
•  You seek respect.

Feelers tend to be sensitive, empathetic, and are compelled by extenuating circumstances and a constant search for harmony.
If you are a Feeler, you make decisions based primarily on your personal values and how you feel about the choices.
•  You value harmony.
•  You consider other people's emotions.
•  You are warm, friendly, gentle, and personal with people.
•  You like to please others; show appreciation.
•  You use mercy with others.
•  You like to deal with people compassionately.
•  You choose tactfulness over truthfulness.
•  You live by your passionate heart.
•  You tend to take things personally.
•  You get your feelings hurt easily.
•  You want to avoid arguments and conflicts.
•  You notice when people need support.
•  You are motivated by being appreciated.

I'm a straight up thinker. my friends think i'm cold because i make cold decisions sometimes. Like dump a girl who cheated on me even though she cried her eyeballs out for a week and i think conflicts can be progressive. I love to argue though i have the tendency to get involved in win/lose arguments thats not cool

you are changing because you want to blend with the popular people. you may have identity issues
most people that are rich and famous are feelers and they make you think you are weird.
tell you what, the most brilliant people are thinkers, they don't get attention, but whoo needs attention anyway.
I am a strong thinker and don't want to be anything else

i discoverd something almost everyone if not everyone here has been judging himself or herself as either a thinker or a feeler , i want to point out something and i'll be straight please don't be a judge allow someone to rate you as for me i've had my own fair share some people see me as a thinker while some see me as a feeler but the intersting thing about psychology is that we all have these traits even the devil does have them  Lips sealed well so tell me are you guys still thinking the same path no war of words oohh!! I'm more of a thinker that a feeler, but i'm also a feeler cause m both empathetic and sympathetic. I'm senstitive but just a tad. So m both, and its possible. Every normal person shld be both, or one would turn out to cold hearted or 2 much of a wimp.

I think the overwhelming majority of people do exhibit both thinking and feeling traits. The question is which trait you are predisposed to exhibit. In other words, which would be the immediate and unconscious response you would give to a particular situation - a thinker or feeler response? Which kind of response do you feel most comfortable exhibiting?

I think I'm definitely more of a thinker. However, I'm sometimes amused when people judge me as a feeler - I guess that this must be because whenever they interact with me, the subjects we talk about lead me to bring out my 'feeler side more.

There are studies out there that say that men are more disposed to being thinkers than women - is this your experience?

@ KA, in that case the answer has to depend on the situation. When has to do with humanitarian issues m more of a feeler, especially when its unfair treatment of others. But i'm more of a thinker in situations that have only 2 do with emotions, such as love, lives, friendship etc. So like everything in my life it depends on the situation!

really? Shocked critisizing others is not all it take to be a thinker right? Huh

@Ka
in line with ToyM28--  where and when determine the overwhelming trait.

@ Diyo, tnx. its almost impossible to tell someone to distinguish the two traits that make people human. they both go hand in hand.
