Do I work well under pressure? Hell, no! I absolutely can't stand it.
What do I do when:
- My site is down and people are sending me unreasonable messages?
- I'm owing a supplier some money and I don't know where to get it?
- Someone is being manipulative but I know I still need that person's help?
I collapse! Work-related pressure is like poison to me, so I like to anticipate the future and prepare for it. I don't like being surprised by circumstances, so I am extremely conservative. I don't accept new responsibilities easily.
And unlike some people, I don't find external pressure motivating at all. I prefer to motivate myself internally.
What about you? How productive are you under pressure?

as for me,i work best under pressure,though i anticipate the future too,but this life is full of unforeseen circumstances popping up so one really has to be up to the task,you must meet pressure with extra pressure.

I am a very free spirited person, therefore pressure to me is like being backed into a corner, and i usually bite wen cornered.
I become very irritable, and highly temparemental. i snap wen under pressure and the irritation makes me loose concentration, thus the phrase I CANNOT WORK UNDER PRESSURE.

Like you, I like an ordered well planned life. This means I absolutely HATE working under pressure.
What do I do when I have to work under pressure? I just tell myself that the world won't end if I don't meet the deadline and I carry on working as best as I can.

i dont like working under pressure but sadly tend to produce best results when under pressure. i thrive on deadlines.
Never give me a job to do without a deadline attached to it, it ends up NOT being done!

Actually i dont like working under pressure, it seems like am not in control of the situation. But i found out that it brings the best in me. Maybe is the nigerian in me! Always like to work in the eleventh hour.

Like you, I welcome deadlines - they give me focus to a job I'm doing. Heck, I'll often give myself a deadline if I'm not given one already!
But I like my deadlines to be given reasonably in advance so that I can plan my work properly. This is the kind of scenario that drives me up the wall (except for the last bit):
Ku: Ka, that job that I asked you to do last week,
Ka: Yes, I'm making good progress on that. As you requested, it'll be finished next week.
Ku: Actually, that's changed. I need it tomorrow.
Ka (astonished): What?
Ku: And I would like you to add five new features to the work as well.
Ka (outraged): WHAT???
Ku: And oh yes, I don't think I'll be needing most of the features that you've already added, so you can remove that from the work.
Ka (in a blinding fury): WHAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Ku: Of course, we'll pay you ten times what we promised.
Ka: (cooling down): Ahhhhh, that's more like it!

I don't like deadlines but I thrive on them. An exception would be when I need the money badly -- I can churn out what's required as quickly as possible under such conditions.
Deadlines hardly ever faze me -- I just take them in stride. Lack of sleep does, however.

i totally hate pressure, especially when 3 months after we are supposed to go live, my oga is still playing golf and has forgotten all the sleepless nights, coffee and anginas he caused,
funny, deadlines seem to pass and planned projects eventuially become successful.
I still remember the deadline that almost got my colleague sacked, two promotions after and salary increase, no one talks abot the deadline even when the project is not complete.
I hate work pressure cos it spills into every part of your life that is not work

working under pressure brings out the best in me, i know this for sure,though i seriously DREAD it!im a PA,and my boss never commends me when im able to achieve some difficult task he's given me (even when he doubts my capabilities) and i proove him wrong.

i do work under presure not because i like it but i get myself doing other people's job to save the team! Am a multitask person work with deadline a friend just told me recently that i have a way of web'g every biz activity around me and when i leave the Coy i leave a big ditch behind. can't agrue on that because it has happen'd before and like it going to again. @losky don't expect your boss to praise you. I have a clearview of your experince. They know >:(so you do your bit  . Dont overwork you @$$ please!!! @ Seun try not to be frustrated @ those time best you can do is delegate & do your bit. But you dont want to be make major harm with rush decision |

I can work well under school pressure exams and all, but i cannot work well when i'm pressured to do somthing and the best communication they tut they shld pass that msg to me was by shouting! I hate shouting, it adds unnecessary pressure on!

Pressure?  definitely, it brings out the best in me.life is so full of suprises,fate throws at us the good,the bad,the difficult and the impossible but it takes an exceptional person to work through a pressure packed situation.I've being descibed as a crises manager,the more the pressure the better for me  |

under pressure, i lose it! so like Seun said, i plan in advance, i absolutely hate pressure(imagined or real), i just hate it.

hmmm, was lookn at my previous posts n came across dis, actually, I try to avoid workin under pressure cuz i like to think I gave my best in every sense but if push comes to shove, i dont mind pressure, keeps me on my toes.

No way! if i can't concentrate, relax and feel good while working then it is certain that the work might end or nothing fruitful is produced from the effort.
pressure is like stress which the human body abhors though some people may be able to cope but they'll still feel the need for freedom.
