Enigma,
I discovered CRTV to be Ghanaian.I still insist they are on 28*East with Sky,Community channel,ITV Quad, etc.I ran several tracking tests on the bird and Eurobird2,and found out that it was not straying.CRTV was off as at yesterday afternoon.

George-D/Butoneday,
I hail una.pls take care of Mr.Gem for us next week.

GlobeCast goes after African DTH

20/02/2009

Satellite distribution specialist GlobeCast will use next month’s Dubai CabSat to launch a new African DTH platform.

Hot on the heels of the failure of Gateway’s DTH bouquet, GlobeCast is attempting something a little different in the shape of a wholesale service. “The new platform is the first (free) Ku-band DTH platform with coverage over sub-Saharan Africa, providing broadcasters with the opportunity to reach households across the continent,” says GlobeCast.

GlobeCast is starting modestly and has one dedicated transponder on a satellite that facilitates uplink from Europe and is compliant to distribute services to IPTV or terrestrial network head-ends.

The new platform, which is an alternative to the pay TV bouquets in sub-Saharan Africa, responds to a strong demand for free-to-air Ku-band coverage of this crucial region. Several African broadcasters are already in contact with GlobeCast to secure positions in this coveted space and extend their audience to 56 African countries, says the operator.

Good News for FTA Grin

Who told you that he is coming here to suffer? Far from it. We are arranging special delicacies
like owho soup, ogbono with salted dry fish, edikain kong with shrimps and river soup all
waiting for him. Also, there is a special delta princess to take good care of him throughout his
stay here. So, tell me, if this is suffering, who will not like to suffer? Grin

Please lets be responsible enough to obey the rules of the forum! Remember not everybody is as crazy about football as you are. Surely there must be a sports section in this forum?
FTA is not all about football, there are crazy people like myself who are in it for documentaries, science, research etc.
Moderator we should think of handing out suspension sentences e.g. blacklisting his subdomain range or his IP for a week or two or more in case of multiple offenders

I am hibernating for now. However, I have contact of two guys in Warri that can do the installation for you. Installation fee is 2,000 naira if you are not doing it yourself.
Antenna is 3,000 naira
Mounting pole is about 2,000 naira.
Cable is 1,000
Since you already have a receiver you have skipped 8.500 naira.
Do not use the power pack that comes with the antenna.
Just combine the google group info plus above plus the above. Very simple. Abi?

The set up works with terrestrial digital signal. It also depends on the mode of tramsmission. You can give it a trial. After all FTA is all about seeking.

I believe you are the only Ghanaian who does'nt like football, lol. How far with your motorised system? Have you try getting CRTV on Eurobird 25.5 Deg E? I heard it is Ghanaian, but so far I cannot tell.

@Salamander,

I have been able to pick up the crtv with about 97% signal quality.I however doubt if it's 25.5E. I  am inclined to go with toxnaija that it is 28 E.

my friend has promised to seal up the deal by Monday evening. On the fast brewing football controversy,I think we cant do without linking it with fta but if those who love documentaries, movies, etc decide to post pix and all sorts on this thread,it will be turned into a mess.I advise we stick to fta.I think I will mobilise fish-lovers on this thread to start their own too-Engineer A.Enitan, ola, and other fish lickers should dtart posting fish pix.Is it not part of fta too?at least there are so many fishes on Hotbird.

@ All,
Can someone tell me where to get an industrial jack? My 6m fibre dish is very heavy and I think size 36 jack (which I currently have) will not be able to move the dish because of it's weight. I would like to be moving the dish from 7.0*W to 25.0*E
