what trend sells is the decoder. no card at all, it is hardcoded into the decoder, u buy the decoder and you pay monthly subscription.

thanks for the information.Does that mean that Echolink has added jsc sports+1-4 to its package?what is the fate of Strong?I had to do a bit of adjustment on the 3m fibre for over 3hours this afternoon.A heavy storm tilted the scalar a few days after the installation making me to have weak signals on Showsports.I have increased the signals from 46 to 50% on Showsports as at 7pm,hoping for an improvement on its own.I believe you would do better but I dont want to tamper with your allignment,so I am leaving it at the current signal strength.any suggestions?I hope Enitan never induct u into the fishermen group.How is the family?
I will take the Echolink to badaru on Wednesday to help find a solution to my inability to see ART.

BBC PRIME has replaced ShowToday on Nilesat.It is free for now on 11861 vertical 27500.I am tired of watching football,football,football.this fta awoof dey run belle ooo.I read an interview in today's paper in which DSTV boss was accusing some people in the North of stealing their intellectual property/piracy by picking satellite signals meant for the Middle East /North Africa.I wish he knew about this forum,then he would run to his bosses in South Africa to ask that they block the Nigerian satellite airspace.It will get to a stage people in the South will forget pay-tv especially with the coming of Globecast on DTH,then HITV and DSTV will run koroba-koroba.what is your opinion on this accusation against us by the boss of DSTV of stealing free air?If I know Yar'Adua's internet broadband code,I go use am.At least all over Europe,University students have free internet access in their hostel rooms and class.I am tired of this country where everything including air would have to be paid for thru the nose.pls go and buy fuel that will last you for at least two months for the car and generator.By Friday,we will see pepper.sorry my Ghanaian pals for bothering you,help me get job at TV3 or TvAfrica before Friday.I still cant pick TV3 here with the available parameters,and tvafrica on the same satellite went as high as 98% this evening.I was picking it until some weeks ago.I thought it was a general problem until I cried out last week.

echolink and starsat receivers, which is better functionally and feature-wise?

there are two regulators in the panel. unsolder the one that is connected to an aluminium part that looks like a "heat sink" and replaced it with another regulator of the same specification but if u can't do it , get a technician to do it for you. It will only work if the decoder is the original type. Good luck

nice to know that you are still there.thanks for the observations on the football adulteration.On Strong,I think the recent development is for our good.Let the receiver companies begin a competition war.At least we can now watch all the stations that are worth their salt.I remember predicting this some weeks back.Echolink/Starsat has already taken over the market with the acquisition of Strong's only joker-jsc +1-4.Iam sure Strong will have to acquire another juicy provider such as NOVA on Hotbird,as there is nothing for them on Nilesat now.
On DSTV,it will get to a period that they will drop subscription to N500 per month like you noted.I wish people in the South have the liberty of space and enough knowledge about fta.I can imaginepaying almost N10000 monthly for just 60 channels when I can watch over 3000channels free via fta.
On the comparison between the Echolink/Starsat receivers,pls let us avoid argument and controversy.If you are not using both,then you cant comment on them.Every receiver has its good and bad sides.I still prefer my Strong functions to that of Echolink but Strong wouldnt work with abracadabra.I hope you understand my analysis.

I dont know if someone has posted this already but there is a new Ghanaian station on NSS7 C that is viasat. Blind scan for it and it will pop up. So far good movies and old Bill Cosby comedies, friends, girl friends etc

I share your frustrations with our apparent lack of initiative however, all's not bad news. We in Accra have gotten to meet though casually on a number of occasions. I have met Salamander, Sathob and a couple of other fellows. So by and by things are getting along. I agree we should put in more effort though.

@ butoneday - thank you for your brotherly care and assistance, u can plz call me for latest update.   @ tox - since echolink gives u stress due lack of usb i suggest u look for ali receiver with usb like that model i posted, i promise u ll never regret so.      @ all - if u ve never see u ll find it difficult to believe the magic of this juju-card,is not even showtime or art that makes me crazy, but channels like vh1,starworld,zeetv and so on, is it news u want?fox news and skynews re there. Do u know that this wicked jujucard opens entire encrypted channels in nilesat, wow what a wonderful world. But the bad news is that all these good channels re in H transpondant, which require at least 4m dish in southern nigeria. Tox which hr of the day do u experienced drop in signal for showsprt and cnn.        @ adewest - with cnn signal up to 55% and showsprt 60% or above in the morning hrs and afternoon i still notice break in signal drop in the evening time leading to cnn breaking badly and showsprt breaking fairly.

can anyone confirm that darsat is on Intelsat 901 at 18.0°W?

regarding the arguments over which is better between echolink and starsat, what one might want to consider is the support, if you notice how many decoders on their support page and how so many of them are not currently being supported.

3020 IR PLUS is still the most supported right now as you will see from their website. it belongs to the same class of ali C which is 3329c Beta version. the starsat X6300cu and 5300 cu also belong to this class. meanwhile the X7100Cu which the moderator has belong to the epsilon class of decoder

if you are considering buying  a usb version of echolink you might want to try the EL-5060 2CA USB which is a new product with USB support.

but note this fact. there is no official support site for starsat decoders unlike the echolink and benefit right now is because the starsat we get are clones of the the available echolink. just think of  time when there will be no starstat version of the echolink we have. I pray that day does not come.

I think your signal experience has solved the mystery with my dish.I have signals of 54/52 and 50/48  for Showsports and CNN respectively between 8pm and early afternoon.By mid-afternoon,the signal drops drastically to 48/46  on Showsports breaking seriously while CNN goes off completely.I thought it was the rain storm only but with your report,I now believe atmospheric conditions also contribute especially with the cloudy sky we often have nowadays.Does any other person in the South experience this?I agree with you that a 4m fibre dish is the best bet for us here.If my 3m in Abeokuta and 4m in PH could be disappointing once in a while,then Lagos and locations below it should forget Showsports on 3m.3.5m fibre and above will do the magic.
