This is another wrong statement. I don't know where y'all got the idea that igbo girls are always fair.

No, they are not always light-skinned(I'm not). Just because the percentage of light-skinned people among igbos is greater

compared to the percentage of light-skinned people among other ethnic groups in Nigeria doesn't mean igbos are always light-skinned.

It's just what it is - there are more light-skinned igbos than others. Besides, there are light-skinned yorubas and hausas, calabars, etc.

This obsession about skin color with some Nigerian men or black men in general is now equal to demon posession.

Fairness and beauty are no in any way related. Hell, I've seen mixed race girls that were straight up defining wowo and dark girls that were the epitome of beauty.

No offence to anyone but a lot of people that are so caught up on the idea that fair equals beautiful are dark themselves. So I guess it's safe to assume that those people believe themselves to be less than attractive.

If 'nairaland' is anything to go by, I don't really think that people find fair-skinned girls attractive. Just go through the WHOLE of 'nairaland' and you'll observe the 'whooping' and 'bashing' that light-skinned fellows are put through. In fact, they are deemed to be ugly and lesser beauties. While I agree that there are a few men who are obsessed with 'yellow' women, a larger percentage of them are obsessed with ebony-skinned women.

Light-skinned women never seem to have a problem with the men that prefer ebony beauties. Many of them are aware that ebony is what most men (and women too) prefer. However, when the reverse happens, there is a lot of bickering and bashing from all quarters. Isn't this a typical case of being two-faced and pretentious? Talk of double standards at its best!
