I signed up on a couple days and used this plan when I was in Lagos last month.  However, when I tethered (use my phone as a modem) my laptop  it was using my regular airtime instead of it coming out of the 50 MB allowance.  It's probably a setting on my phone, because I do not think it should have made a difference to MTN if I was tethering or not, since they will cut me off once I hit 50 MB or my 24 hrs. is up anyway.  I was using a treo 750 if it makes any difference.

Bossman, to stop that from happening, you need to restart your phone after you have been activated for the plan.

Ok. That was probably it. Thanks!. I can't remember if I restarted the phone or not. Browsing from the phone did take out of the alloted 50 MB though, even without restarting the phone.

Why can't mtn make this packaged unlimited data for this 24/7. Rather than some MB.

You can use my 3G USB MODEM, UMTS/HSDPA/GPRS, Compactable with all GSM Operator, MTN, GLO, ZAIN, Plug and Play, instead of using your phone, and enjoy high speed browsing with any of the MTN plan you choose.
