YinkaGal,

I really don’t understand where you are coming from. You didn’t elaborate yourself. You simply said you have heard that Calabar girls are sexually active and Igbo girls are hairy. If, as you say, a lack of elaboration will bring about hatred, then, my dear, the hatred started with the first post on this thread - yours.

When people mentioned that they perceive Yoruba girls to be noisy and dirty, you started asking if they have met every single Yoruba girl. Have you met every single Calabar and Igbo girl? Why did this not figure in your analysis? Is that not double standards?

Ok I get what you are saying - You mean the girls were saying "Yorubas are" when they should have said "I heard Yorubas are". Right?
But look at the examples you gave at the beginning, you also said "Calabar girls are", "Igbo girls are".
You didn't say "I heard Calabar girls are" or " I heard Igbo girls are".
So what's your point? Huh

No where in the real world do you know of a people who all act bad or who all act good.

So rumors and stereotypes about the various black people in Naija serves no purpose.

You can always find one who will fit it the stereotype and one who won't.

For instance, wasn't it a Hausa woman just caught in adultery, about to be killed.

As we say: If you can't say something good about somebody, don't say nothing at all.

I'm sorry yinkaGal, Hotstepper is kind of right. I tried reading your post like three times and could not make out what the hell you talking about. I'm in the States, I've passed through London a few times and never heard them talk like that.

I seem to remember a thread a while ago that mentioned a stereotype about Igbo girls and money. I remember the initiator of that thread had his balls chopped off and stuffed in his mouth. Isn't it a little odd that rather than mete out the same treatment here some NLers have proceeded to state ethnic stereotypes of their own?

I certainly hope we do not wholeheartedly beleive the comments being made. Behavioral patterns/stereotypes have little to do with your ethnic/genetic/racial composition and much more to do with your environment.

I bow o. I don't know what purpose posts like this serve. To further generate negative stereotypes? To further increase the divisive mentality that is killing Nigerians as a people? How does that better anyone's life or progress Nigeria or Nigerians as a people? And the same person who started the thread gets defensive when she hears of stereotypes about her ethnic group. Go figure. Do you think other people enjoy hearing negative things about THEIR ethnic groups? If you don't want to hear negative things about your ethnicity/tribe, then it would be best to show others the same courtesy.

@yinkagal, you're seriously confused.
expressing yourself - u can't!
tolerance - is far from u
written grammar - fafafa, foul!

you asked a question and when the answers come u get mad, saying they should keep to themselves. why didn't u keep d one of igbo and calabar gals to yourself? y did u even ask? u thot u'll hear all d sweet things about yorubas?

for the future, try asking questions u can tolerate. not talkin about others and getting angry when they talk about u!

no hard feelings sha!
