I bow o. I don't know what purpose posts like this serve. To further generate negative stereotypes? To further increase the divisive mentality that is killing Nigerians as a people? How does that better anyone's life or progress Nigeria or Nigerians as a people? And the same person who started the thread gets defensive when she hears of stereotypes about her ethnic group. Go figure. Do you think other people enjoy hearing negative things about THEIR ethnic groups? If you don't want to hear negative things about your ethnicity/tribe, then it would be best to show others the same courtesy.

True talk, I believe the next time this pikin start thread like this one she go really think. Angry Angry

I heard Hausas are demon people. They do the work of the devil and would love nothing more than to collect Yoruba and Igbo heads to that they can give it to their demon known only has Kai-Kai. They also use human flesh in their suyas.  Lips sealed

I heard that those yoruba women sitting and selling in the market place also defecate in those containers they are sitting on and could be selling you things at the same time.

I heard that they are very dirty also.

I heard they borrow money to do all that owa mbe

that Yorubas are unreliable.

that they are all mouth and no action, remember Jegede Shokoya of masquerade

that Hausas are very truthful and trustworthy

that Igbos would kill for money

all 419ers are Igbos

that bini girls are mainly prostitutes
bini men are armed robbers

that Ijaws are whiners and complainers

calabar people are the best cooks
calabar girls are the best wives

these are just stereotypes,I'm sure it's not true, there are good and bad in every tribe.
But Yinka wanted to hear stereotypes, there you go.

Myth/Fact?

there's a tribe(bushmen) that eat people  Shocked, i heard nysc people are always warned before go to that specific village

where is the tribe/village?

I think there might be some truth to this story. We had thi joke we used to crack in my office:

Two 'corpers' were sent to such a village to serve. The chieftain gathered all the people in thevillage and presented them to the villages.

'Look at these faces well and remember hem,' he said. 'No one should eat them -- they're 'government pikin'.'

One of the villagers spoke up,'Even if you gave one of them to me to eat I won't. I tried out a city man once -- they're not sweet.'

50 years after independence and we are all still documenting crap about tribal stereotypes that our grandparents/parents started. Isnt it time to wise up and try to unite?

ghettobabe,It's all stereotypes but I feel you.
Like here in States,it is stereotypical that black Americans are lazy, most of their men in jail.
Mexicans are welfare queens milking the govt.
Jewish people are money hungry and would ask for a pound of flesh.
Chinese folks are mean mean mean.
Indians and Pakistanis cunning and crafty
Russians are racist to the core
Italians are aggressive and chauvanistic
Spanish men are very romantic and unfaithful to their spouses
Africans smell and have no manners and just be grateful to be out of Africa
There are animals running around the streets in Africa.

Nwanne it's all stereotypes,we've all heard them but we know better.
They are not true.
