In any language. You only need to understand the XML. You can use DOM (Document Object Model), since most Nairaland members are Windows fanatics. If you want challenge use python, very good in handling XML (Extensive Markup Language)

XML is not a programming language its a document structure! You can parse XML in any language. I once wrote my own parser for some embedded C however languages like PHP, Java I know come with built in XML parsers.

Thanks for clearing that up. Actually, XML is best for presenting specific data like RSS and Atom. Elsewhere, I've discovered that the overhead on CSV or other formats is less when doing any sort of programming that requirees parsing XML. Methinks the usefulness of XML has been overhyped, although I have to admit it has it's uses when doing work on AJAX or using XML Data Islands for client-side scripting on the web.

The thing is knowing where to draw the line -- not every kind of data can be presented as XML.

You can always use XSL to transform XML into a more readable format -- e.g. the RSS 2.0 feed on my blog has been transformed [ http://azuka.zatechcorp.com/feed/ ].

qleyo, by the way I've never gotten your site to load everytime I tried. Getting too many hits?

Great work. Few people bother to do any validation.  Wink. I stick to 1.1.
