u just said it al, the basis for comparison just do not exist, one is in a class of his own , the other is in his own world, i would prefer the two of them in my team to be invincible.,messi is skill ful on a one to one, he can hold his own. ronaldo, has an eye like an eagle, very sharp . nna i no fit choose. but if they both come to arsenal, i might be able to tell the difference.

Is it conscious/deliberate selfishness just to steal show or a natural style of play? Think it's the former. Some players, especially very skilful midfielders are, as a matter of style, just addicted to holding on to ball, and dribbling everybody(including intruding own player), some have intention to show off(what is called playing to gallery) while it is just part of some's natural style. JJ and Ronni fall into former while I think Messi fall into the latter.

Also I agree CR7 is more of a team player than Messi, but a single individual effort/move by Messi can achieve what teamwork has failed to achieve!

To analyse both players, Both are skillful but in terms of character play i believe it is messi. Messi stoped diving after Mourinho accused him fallen like a cartoon and he handed it over to CR7 who dives at every interval whether been touch by (opposing player,his own team mate or even the referee).

In terms of dribbling I believe Messi possess much dribbling skill than CR7 but ronaldo is better off in terms of pace. It will be very difficult to judge who scores more goals than each other

But overall i believe it is Messi. Mr crucial reason is individaul harvoc and maturity with the ball
