Job Title:      Manager (Projects)
   
Location:      Lagos
   
Reporting to:   Customer Services Manager (Strategy)

Purpose of Role/Context/Scope

This role manages all day to day activities in GN logistics contracts (excluding 3rd party warehousing) including transportation, forklift trucks outsourcing, loading/offloading etc through effective SLAs, performance management, issues resolution, effective liaison etc.

The role provides operational support to the implementation of all key strategic initiatives in GN logistics operations.

Key Accountabilities

·   To effectively manage all current logistics hauliers so as to guarantee optimum vehicle utilisation, improved turn around time, journey times to deliver competitive service
·   Manage loading/offloading and FLT contracts across GN logistics operations.
·   Implement customer services outsourcing initiatives
·   Data collation, track and report on key improvement initiatives on a periodic basis
·   Implement various logistics operations improvement initiatives at all distribution centres to create enhanced value within GN supply chain

Dimensions

Financial
This role will provide support to the Customer Services Manager (Strategy) in managing performance / operations within a total cost budget of about N5billion per annual.
Market Complexity
 Works across all brewery distribution centres and depots in collating relevant data and    KPIs require for performance management as well as decision making to drive logistics effectiveness and efficiencies.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
Leadership Responsibility
This is a matrixed role. The role holder will work closely with customer services leadership team, regional distribution teams, packaging teams, sales, marketing and third-party logistics service providers to deliver superior logistics performance.

Can align already a larger brewery team behind customer services agenda for change.

Qualifications and Experience Required
Business experience with capability in strategy, logistics and customer management, process design and development. Change management experience. Proven ability to persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels. Analytical, interpretative, numeric and decision-making skills within a highly dynamic process environment. 
Excellent relationship building skills. Demonstrates a track record for performance and a can-do mindset. Degree level qualification.
A minimum of 4 years practical working experience in Logistics operations or Inventory Management role.
A University Degree qualification.

Skills/Knowledge
Fully conversant with inventory management processes using SUN systems.
Strategic mindset
Detailed knowledge of Diageo supply chain capability framework.
Detailed knowledge of Diageo Risk Management, Environmental and Safety Standards.
Strong commercial awareness
Competent coach and facilitator of multi-disciplinary teams.
Understands the link between Diageo Values/Leadership Capabilities and excellence in technical disciplines.

Relationships
Internal

·   GN Customer Services leadership team
·   GN sales team members – Divisional and Area Sales Managers etc
·   Packaging team

External

·   Third party transporters
·   Other third party service providers eg FLT, loading/offloading contractors
·   GN customers/distributors




Barriers to Success in Role
Inability to implement value adding strategic initiatives
Inability to influence broadly and manage across all internal and external stakeholders to achieve expected objectives

Flexible Working options
HQ based with frequent local travel between distribution centres (approx 40%)
