My F-secure has expired and I cant update my anti-virus anymore.I am now using Avira '08.The anti-virus definitions on Avira is updated everyday and I am kinda enjoying it as an alternative to F-secure.

@just2nice. . My avira doesnt scan my fone, it hangs while scaning. Bt it scans all recieved files in inbox via bluetooth. . Also scans my mmc wen i re-insert it. Any clue on dat?

@tjosh.If it doesn't scan,then it seems your phone has been infected with a virus and the Avira has difficulties quarantining and exterminating the threat.Most mobile anti-viruses are more effective as a firewall than detecting and defusing mobile threats.So,I would advise you to format your phone or memory card to get rid of the virus and then re-install the Avira.Also make sure you update regularly,like twice a week.As for the scanning of MMC,you can change that option in the 'Settings'.

F-security is not a good Anti-Virus for good antivirus, go for KASPERSKY.This antivirus notifies you imediately a malicious code(virus) is sent to your inbox.Install it,try it and always update it to get maximum protection.This is the antivirus I use for my Nokia N70 smart phone.I have deleted/quarantine 6 viruses(Trojan horse).

we're saying the same thing, these anti-wateva are simply the best way to slow your phones down. phones that are already crying for more horsepower. . . how wicked. if u perfectly know what you are doing? you wouldnt be accepting every bluetooth message that comes your way. you wont be downloading every cute software you see. . . you'll end up safe from the so called viruses. |

I know of some java anti-virus out there like Antignat and some others but I don't think there are viruses specifically aimed at java phones.
As for those using Symbian phones,I will see if I will be able to upload Kaspersky updates to this thread.
Hansibone and 4peace has been supplying us before but for a while now,we are missing it.Seriously,I miss Hansibone big time.He is one of those guys that made the phone section tick in those days,around 2007 to mid 2008.
Hansibone,Hayprof,Dragnet,Info,Dual Core,Naijafa,Ceejay80s,Texazzpette and others;thsese guys made me visit the phone section every one hour then in those days and made my time in Nland worhwhile.
What we have now in this section are FBT wannabes who knows nothing else on about mobiles other than ,network cheats and other illegal shits.To be frank,this section is getting fucked up by the day!

There is no mobile anti-virus that can really claim that it is the best.F-secure is trying,Avira isn't doing bad and Kaspersky has some outstanding mobile security features but to acheive the best results(in terms of protecting and ridding the phone of mobile threats),you should rotate the activation and scanning of your anti-virus in your phone once in a while ie install Kaspersky and scan your phone;then uninstall Kaspersky and use F-secure to check again for mobile threats,and maybe throw Avira into the mix to be very sure.That is what I do once in a month and it has helped to ensure that I am free from any viral attacks whatsoever.
Nawtybenny my man,I will recommend Kaspersky because of the ease in getting anti-virus updates.You have the option of offline or online updates with it.Go for it.
