If you ask me I'll say north or south home is the best! But outside Nigeria I have met Nigerians who say "that stupid useless godforsaken country, I'll never go back there!" Yet wherever they are that are treated as second citizen or nobody.
What do you think?

Sometimes its not a matter of freedom, but of economic status or personal reasons. I think home is the best for some reasons. And importantly, freedom 2 me is something in the soul

and what is "freedom" in this topic? ?
Please! There is nothing personal about this topic, so don't direct it at me or at anyone in particular. Freedom in this case is very psychological and it means freeing yourselves from self enslavement for the sake of searching for better life rather than putting your bits into the motherland and make it come out like those places you think are paradise. This topic is to let those who think otherwise do some re-think or air their views to convince us. If you have ever been abroad then you probably will understand the reason for this topic. Let us just air our views and put sentiments or insults away. Regards to all!

If I understand the word "freedom", then I would definitely say abroad. If it is where I feel at home, I would say home. By abroad, I mean my home base - US. spking out of ignorance Freedom:- Am I allowed to worship God as a christian freely in the Northern parts of Nigeria? - Do I have the freedom to say anything about the Nigerian government, ala AIT, without suffering consequences? - Am I free to stand up to the political status quo without fear of being killed? Just a few Feeling at home:- Where else can I have people address me as "sir" as opposed to "hey u" or by first name? - Where else can I get 100% organic, chemical-free food? - Where else can I raise my blood pressure by screaming and yelling while negotiating prices? - Where else can I sit back and relax over a cool bottle of gordon spark amongst buddies I went to school with? Again, just a few

dolly-pee: without the CAPS, I heard u loud and clear I thought as much regarding what u had in mind, but just wanted to make sure. Back to ur post, yes I am aware of the situation. In fact, according to one documentary I watched, $30billion worth of degrees leave their respective countries yearly for the united states where they are not even utilized Sure, many of our degrees may b under-utilized upon arrival, but hey, what would hv been the alternative for such people back at home - late salaries? little or no job prospects? etc. Of course, I am spking in generalities. As I often ask people in the states, if it is that bad, y r u still here? I usually get a lot of "ummm"s and head-scratching at this point. It may seem hard, but if it were that bad, people wd be flowing out, as opposed to in Bottomline to me (and I spk as someone who has been out of a job for 2 years. I had to learn this the hard way), as long as one is able to put food on their table for their family or themselves, it doesn't really matter what a person does. As Nnamdi Azikiwe said, no condition is permanent. The day wey u no get job for obodo oyibo, na that day u go sabi who ur true friends be. As always, my 2 cents
