smartsoft: a few lessons I have learnt about the truth  - The truth is bitter - I have nothing to lose. I tell the client what I can and cannot and will not do (3 separate things). If the disagree, we move on amicably. - No need to boast, because one day, it will surely catch up with you. - Rather than say I can do something and not deliver, thus damaging my reputation, I would rather not do it at all, at the rist of starving my family.  |

guy u r good. i downloaded ur book on html.am doin it in school rite now. we were asked to design our personal website usng html and host it using our personal domain name obtained from netfirms for free. n i was checkin d web for formats and nice personal websites n i saw urs on nairaland. could u give me some more suggestion on how i could design my website?i.e how it'll look. probably templates or stuff for personal website.
This question aint only directed @ kheme also smartsoft,seun,sbucareer,my2cents and all ya who'r good in web design. I want my first website to at least look cool.

What i can tell you is this, website design becomes a whole lot easier when you already have a PICTURE of exactly what you want! I or anyone else can teach you HOW TO USE HTML or any other HTML/WEB DESIGN TOOLS, but no one can teach to IMMAGINATION!!!
once you've learned HTML, the rest is left to your imagination! like, what kind of site you're building, personal, business, games, girls stuff, etc.
then depending on the kind of site you've settled for, you can then decide what colors will fit into the website, blue, black, red, color combinations red and black, greed and yellow, etc.
next, you think of where to get good content for the website. the kind of website also determines the kind of content!
I really can't explain VERY WELL HERE because i need to make a few drawings to explain the layouts and arrangments of your text, images, videos, etc.
But the basic thing is to get a clear concept of what you want out of the site, i mean, even if you have a paletm good brush and all the colors, you can't paint a picture if you don't have that picture in mind first! that's how it is with website design!

Seme Online is nice, but the flash took a while to download. Have mercy on folks using dial-up. Also, on your profile, your mission: "To effectively raise the standard of the multimedia industry in Nigeria to an internationally accecpted level, in all it's ramifications." You might want to watch your typographical error as that kind of standard is not acceptable. Need I add that my jaw is intact? You did an impressive job though. Keep the Nigerian flag flying high, where it belongs.  |
