As a Medical Doctor I have had to take care of a lot of HIV positive patients. I am exposed each day of my life to the infection.
I remember some patients whose status I did not know and then I am treating and then I get a needle prick (A needle I used for the patient mistakenly pricks me) and then their HIV results comes out as negative.

What do you think goes on thru my mind everyday? There are a lot of people with this virus. Enough we dont know.
I have actually done the tests twice, both negative and my profession recommends a 6 monthly testing which I hope to do.
But I have actually sat down to consider what if I test positive? People nothing would happen -- life continues.
It is not a death sentence. I can assure you that a lot of non-HIV positive people would die b4 I die. Once I take my drugs regularly which is meant to be free from PEPFAR (a Bill and Melinda Gates foundation initiative in ass with APIN) or at a reduced cost from FG, I eat good food, I maintain a good state of the mind I would live longer than most of you. Grin (Well actually the life expectancy in Nigeria is 43). I surely would live longer than you think.

Nothing about me would change, though I would be depressed for a few months but my people I would live a fulfilling life. Better than you think,  How many peolpe are HIV negative and die in plane crashes, car accidents, armed robberies etc.

In Nigeria there are a lot of things that would kill you faster than HIV  Grin

      If positive,

I`ll get closer to God through Jesus Chrust who is my Redeemer,

      I`ll prepare 4 eternity,

I`ll be more sober and wiew the world differently,

Show more love to the society, etc.

But,  HIV drugs are free in govt hospitals in Warri, UBTH in Benin. (Got this information from some reliable source)

HIV test conducted at such hospitals, including that of an oil firm that i know of are free!

If u do not know your stature, do the test now, d earlier, d better.

Knowing that u`re positive when it `s full-blown AIDS is almost instant death.

But knowing that b4 then, that will  THEN ENABLE u ACCESS TO D DRUGS.

Following d medication religiously wd lead to much healthier, peaceful, fulfil, longer, etc life.

If u`re HIV positive and take d drugs as and when due, u would live 4 many years (compared to about 1, 2, 3 year u live if it`s full-blown AIDS)

If u`re HIV positive and on the drugs, there will be no physical evidence that u`re positive, nobody wd know about it unless u tell them.

If u`re HIV positive and on drugs, u wd have your former strength 2 do those work, activities, exercise, u `re use to.

If HIV positive WITHOUT d drugs, full-blown AIDS is knocking at your door, after which (i.e. if it get to full-blown AIDS) the HIV drugs, even if taken, is MEANINGLESSor USELESS.

So, u can see that delay is dangerous, it cd shorten your life much shorter.

My advise, meet a counsellor in a govt hospital, he`ll tell u how or where 2 get the drugs FOR FREE if after test, U`re positive.

Anyone that end his/her life cos. he/she is positive will, in the other side find out that he/she has jump from frying pan to hell fire.

SUICIDE and/or REJECTION of JESUS CHRIST are the BIGGEST MISTAKES that ANYONE could make!

      GOD BLESS U!

It is better to go for HIV test on time before it is too late. Many because of fear of what will people say
are lingering today, being ignorant of the fact that by so doing they aren't doing themselve any good, rather
they are postponing their shame.

If you test positive to HIV you just have to seek for medical intervention, nothing is new under the sun, it is a common thing in the society these days, nothing to be ashamed of, gone are those days when HIV use to kill it's victims, it is not so any longer, if you take your drugs regularly and follow the precepts religiously you can be sure that the rest of your life is guaranteed. But if you are trying to play smart and you fail to do the test you never can tell when HIV virus will oversmart you, before you know whats happening you are gone. May God forbid that. I still maintain that you should abstain from illicit sex in other to avoid this deadly and most dreaded monster.
