Sannunku!!! Am using Nokia 6630 and am a subscriber to Vmobile .I requested for mmsgprs and wapgprs by sending two different sms to 184.Instantly I got the wap setting and Vmms setting some ours later. The next day I got two different sms that welcome me to the V mobile gprs and mms respectively. In a nut shell, I later discover that when ever I try to browse,the phone shows no packet data available!!So please I want to know if it takes some time or its a technical problem.  Am frm Kano. Thanks. |

Hello Guys,
I think the best request command for Vactive is "wapgprs phone make model" to 184 e.g. wapgprs nokia 6600 to 184.

This is the Data GPRS Manual settings for LG U8130 :
Please note : As this model has been designed to comply with specific networks only, some settings entered manually may be refused by the phone.
1) Press the menu key and select [Settings].
2) In [Settings] , select [Access points] , press [Options] > [Add new].
3) Enter the following information :
Connection title : V-Internet
Bearer : GPRS
Username : internet
Password : internet
APN : internet.vmobile
4) Press [Done].
The data profile is saved.

please my gprs is not more connecting and i call the costomer care they told ask where do i stay i tod them ikorodu and they said my area is not fast and many people have apply for the gprs connection soo it is always slow but .it should be slow does not mean it should not go!!! and other day i call them again later in the night they told me that i should try it later in the night geuss what? i told them that should i not sleep they said i should later soo please my people wht should i do please call me on 08023812112 to tell me what to do or send me an e-mail at durojaiy@yahoo.com or duro4real2005@yahoo.co.uk and the name of my phone is nokia 2650 |

Vmobile GPRS has been out for sometime now, so no wap access yet. i wouldn't bother complaining about my browsing if i were u. This is the Data GPRS Manual settings for LG U8130 :

looks wrong man. no offence, besides there's no way to find out if it'll work or not. 1. vmobile wap do not use password authentication. 2. username is : wap 3. APN : wap.vmobile 4. u forgot the proxy server address : 172.18.254.5 port : 8080(if need be) cheers. |

correct, thats the settings i have on my phone but i sent a txt to 184 sha o, i didnt configure it manually. best thing is to send them a txt and save the settings. |

hey Guys tx i've tried all possible means for lg 8120/8130 settings infact i had gone to the vmobile office in ikeja with no luck still until i saw d topic on gprs settings for vmobile.

Yay!!! I browsed nairaland on Nokia 6030 today with my vmobile line! Yipeee!!! I thought they said Vmobile has started charging people for browsing. Well, I've been browing for free so far.  But I didn't use you people's settings o. I sent Internetgprs (not wapgprs) to 184 and they sent the settings to me.  But there seems to be a problem. . .  In a nut shell, I later discover that when ever I try to browse, the phone shows no packet data available!!So please I want to know if it takes some time or its a technical problem. Am frm Kano. I'm really having some problems with my motorola razr v3. It works perfectly well, but i'm having problems with sending simple text (not to talk of mms). Sometimes i have to resend about 20 times before the message finally goes. I'm sure i've messed up the settings. Any ideas from anyone. Thanks

i find it hard to connect my phone with this gprs settings. i use nokia 3250 and am a vmobile subscriber. though vmobile gave me the settings and i saved it but i still can not browse with the phone. i tried to access the nairaland but it was wrting not connecting .seun say something to do . please very soon .

@ sniy06. I don't think vmobile's gprs covers kano, that's why you are getting that message. I'm aware of their coverage in lagos, ibadan, and even in some parts of osun state .(oau to be precise) i'm in ibadan now and its as fast as anything right bout now.

Did you try the settings posted somewhere in this forum and that did not work? I got the one I put on my phone from the link below. I have not tried it if it works yet though. I'll find out when I get there in a few weeks. I am still trying to decide between MTN and Vmobile. Kind of leaning towards MTN, because I used them when I was there last year and it was okay. thnks man, i had been in search of the real message of which i would send to vmobile, i had been try wapcsd to 184, with no meaningful reply, i had to call their customer care unit, u could not imagine them telling me that the real stuff was wapcsd o 184, i got really fed up and had to forget about the whole issue , which made me lose some of tight pally customers.because am a cell phone specialist, pimper and so on, /computers, i hjad to try this new one, u sent and man u know what it really worked, thanks am really grateful, u will enjoy the settings much more better if u use a sweet set like nokia 6600, sendo x , nec phones, in short just go an wxpensive phone which has good sound quality, sharp monitor, and the best u can get!, thanks man u really helped me a lot here, MAY GOD BLESS NAIRA LAND>>>MAY GOD ;DALSO BLESS ALL THOSE WHO HELP NAIRA LAND>>>>>>>sam 08025153640, ;D
