It’s planets, barren, lonely and bleak,
That circle his mighty glare without care,
While petty me wanders to the unique,
A blue place where I cannot but stare.

Here, the sun treats me like a queen
and crowns me with finest, gulden hair,
While beneath, people praise the seldom seen
And from the heart a wish they declare.

   But following my inner-most desire,
I leave them in search for a distant spark,
Seeking desperately what money can’t acquire
I struggle on the long way through the dark.

In a game, one party looses the other wins, there is no compromise. However, they do exist in the real world.

There are different types of games, different types of wins and different types of loses. Compromise itself is a game; in a chessmasters terms it's call'd a stale. For their best intrests players write the rules and adjust 'em as they see fit. Everything's a game, difference is: d'you know the rules?

No, that is not a compromise; it is a checkmate. A compromise is when both don't WISH to win. Now tell me: Who plays check without even attempting to win? I told you, love is not a game ---

A stale-mate?
Do you know chess?

Hmhm, checkmate might be the wrong word. But that's what I found in the dictionary (hehe, was too fast that entry means something else!  Grin). Let me check somewhere else again.

A stale-mate is when no one wins and no one loses.

Ok, thanks for the English lesson. I know a little chess but I am bad teacher and got nobody else who wants to teach me.

"Love is an Ass"

Poet Francis Egbokhare seems to be happily married. But I agree that love is an "ass". Look it up in the German dictionary than you see why! This poet, being very verse in languages, surely reffered to the German meaning of the word.  Grin

It's a roller coaster of emotions,
Up and down, fast is the ride,
   My words are blown away:
Sorry, I should not have spied.

   Second round got really tough,
Up and down, I thought you lied,
   It almost broke my heart,
You know how hart I cried.

I'm so sorry I didn't take it back,
Up and down, it was my pride
And my hurt soul but now I wonder:
Can I ever again be at your side?

It's almost over, though now I cry
my tears are frought with endless bile.
My muse is flown, gone, lost with style,
and naked on this pillory strut now I.

She could have stayed, she could have.
I stretched my cords to stay the strain.
From my mile of rage I rolled in pain
with the last lone strand that once was love.

But it's gone, with the last hot wind,
not of me but a strain that may never mend.
And it looks, oh it looks like the end:
A last touch with the likes of a saner mind.

Like life, I'll write this down in folds of chagrins.
A dream fading off before its meaning begins.

Still, my love for you is still alive,
   please give us another chance
I've stepped on your toe and you on mine,
but let's not stop this dance.

Hear the band is playing our tune,
the whole world is the floor for our dance,
let's face the crowed together, me'n'you,
   please give us another chance.

If love be alive, girl, and one is dead.
How do we dance when the tune is fled?
Doom postponed now stares in the face
Like a flood. Just be there to say the grace.

Is Love that lady in your bed?
That thing of beauty next to you
Is Love that mystrey in your head?
That cloud's your mind with words unsaid

Lov's The girl men love so much
She's the man girls dream to kiss
She's everything from cramps to blush
I behold love, I feel malaise

Lov's the conqueress of kings
The valint wordless touch of death
With words unspoken, the brute she tames
Love is death, the incarnate

Lov's an illusion to my brain
Lov's a feeling or a place
Lov's where I go to catch a train
Lov's what I do to keep mundane.

If you're dead, I might as well just go,
But, if there is still a whisper of live in you,
We can make it through the low,
Love is stronger than death, it’s true.

Yea, I'd be here, I hope, and another day may break.
Hope, yes, hope may stay to soothe like a desert lake.

Then, I will dance for rain
To return the green to us
   And cease our both pain.
   I’ll wait without a fuss
   Since Osun will not obey
But, out of her own will,
   She’ll answer me one day.
And I will love you still.

Aww! 'tis love story
Makes me tear
just for love for her only
This hopeful lad he lives again
She cried and it was not in vain

I shall watch
I shall wait
To see these lovers
Their bloom, their fate
As they mold their destiny
I shall watch, and I shal wait.

Maybe be like them someday
Maybe teach myself to play
This game of love that I despise
maybe I could love one day

I shall watch and I shall wait
Maybe be like them someday.

I too will sign off here. And let no one find me.
I go on to search, or find, what is eternity.

Here is what has been much and again said,
and I now believe it: ALL GREAT MEN ARE DEAD!

One restless night, my feet carry me away,
Worried by wars, I wander and wonder,
To me, the air feels alien in thought and cool,
Somewhere down there in the dark lays the bay,
Two tiny steps further, I might blunder
Or volunteer and they’d call me a fool.

Wondering, my head almost tears me apart,
Memories flash through my troubled mind:
   Woven across vanishing human lines,
A dream has snatched my hopeless heart,
How to survive alone in a world this unkind?
A pain remains beyond the means of rhymes.

However, out of the blue a bright light
Catches my eye, was it a distant star
That shone many eons ago, in a another sky
And now is no more than a dot of white?
Forward I step and fall, knowing the ground is far
But real and if you must ask: that is why.

Two of those lines are actually stolen and modified. I’m sure their owner recognizes them and remembers. By the way, I speak English but I’m not English and I write poetry but I’m not a poet. For me it’s just

   A joyful and challenging game
   Beyond anyone’s claim,
And not just for gaining fame.

or, at times, something that keeps coming to my mind.
