I hate to bring out the cat, but it has to be said. From what I noticed, the reasons why high-profile black men date/marry other races of women are these two.
1) There are more N-words in the black community than black people: Some black men feel lighter and whiter is the most beautiful standard. They have nigga mentality. Point blank.
2) The rest of the high-profile black men are men first and go where their abunnas are most welcome. It really just depends on the girl.
