SMF 2.0 Beta 4 Help Needed

I am not sure whether you have already registered a web hosting site with your own domain name in order to get started with SMF forum installation.

If you already register with a paginated web hosting site and domain name, then follow as below:

1. Go to your cPanel admin login

2. Scroll down finding the section of the software/services to click the icon: "Fantastico".

3. After prompt opening Fantastico windows [see picture below], you will see the Discussion Board category on the left side column of the navigation area you select "SMF" to be installed automatically for you. That means SMF under Fantastico will install AUTOMATICALLY for you instead of google finding SMF forum (www.simplemachines.org) to download.



4. During the SMF installation phrase, it will prompt asking you to fill in the blank the following questions step by step.

5. You should get the finalized installation SMF saying, "Congratuation, SMF has been installed on your hosting" and then close the Fantastico return to Cpanel in order to log off your Cpanel. It will tell you where to link opening SMF on your desired URL address.

Welcome, you now are OFFICIAL SMF administrator of your forum site at your own, you are FULLY RESPONSIBLE IN CHARGE OF YOUR FORUM site.

6. Go to SMF admin login access and click "ADMIN" on the top of the menu bar of your SMF site.

7. After prompt opening SMF administration center window [see picture below], you will see "SMF 2.0 beta" on the "WELCOME ADMIN" board posting that you can click the blue text color which called hypertext or hyperlink "here" after the end of the sentence of "SMF 2.0 beta" you wish to upgrade from version 1.1.7 to 2.0 beta.

8. Start creating your own new board names, child board names, etc. under SMF ADMIN on the Forum category clicking the hyperlink saying "Boards".

Your forum at 9jajob.110mb.com is nice classic theme but you need to replace SMF logo (smflogo.gif) to your own logo (yourlogo.gif). This smfllogo.gif image dimension is 400 width and 50 height (400x50).

You can use "Downloaded SMF mod packages" from SMF admin panel that is called "Remove SMF Logo". This is found at SMF site under the hyperlink: "Customize" using the blank search box to type "SMF logo".  It will prompt specified package you need to download for SMF admin panel.

Backup your forum database and site pages FIRST before download this mod package.
