The Gardener's Daughter: TV Soap Opera
« on: August 10, 2006, 06:54 AM »

AIT is planning to bombard our senses with another outdated, expired, poor Latin American soap. Wath can they offfer? Nothing. The same stale, stereotyped stories. The worst of it all is that the same people gripping about Nigerian movies in this forum are the the ones mad about these silly soaps.

If they must run Latin American soaps, why can't they get new ones? This is 2006 not 1996.

well i would appreciate it if the no. of times the advert for this soap is shown was reduced.it is a little annoying and somewhat funny.the mention of the "gardener's daughter" many times in the advert ticks me. if the advert for WUAM was like that, i thank God i didn't watch it cause i wouldn't really have been looking forward to the soap.just my opinion anyway. does anyone find the advert to be majorly interesting? Undecided

Well these soaps even if outdated are produced and directed proffesionally as such they can compete with soaps from USA and UK and, meanwhile Nigerian soaps and movies have a long way to go, in the areas of production, direction, story lines, plots etc.

the gardener's daughter is apparently quite good. in ghana, they used local actors to the voice overs.

and the latin american soaps are still better than 90% of anything on nigerian tv.

Who told you that? Huh Dont even let me start with ghannaian movies.
Nigerian movies are the best in africa and their only close rival is south africa. You can't even compare ghannaian movies (which are so seventies) to nigerian movies.

Goodday,

Am a female and I reside in Lagos Nigeria.

I love the latin American soap so much.

Am looking forward to more after the Gardner's Daughter.

but the only thing I want to advice is it should be Mondays - Thursdays because on Friday by 7pm is just too early, working class don't always meet up with the program or better still it can be 10pm please.

I feel so bad anytime I miss any episode.

Well to me i really love the Gardner's daugther the first episod i wacthed was captivating

But what i don't like about it is that they use 1 person 4  2characters have u noticed it?

Remember that it was the same person that was used for the garder's wife when she was still small and the same person was used for the garder's daughter when she grew up perdon me i don't know their names.

You can easily get the end of the soap when u wacth it.

It is almost like When u are mine but not as intresting as it!

Try and remember guys,

love u all.

Emilia who plays the role of the mother is the same as Louisa who plays the role of the daughter. They think the audience will not realise it since the switch was done in the early episodes when the faces were yet to register on our minds.

You guys i still don't get it when u say that Amelia (the mother) and Luisa Fernanda (the gardners daughter) are played by the same person Huh Huh
Anyway its getting more interesting Grin Grin Grin Grin

Amelia Elcantara is in love with Luis Alexandro Montero whom she studies with in university. Her sister Consuela also loves him. When Amelia gets pregnant by him, Luis Alexandro dumps her & his unborn child to marry Marisa, a rich widow with one child, Carlos Eduardo.

Consuela is extremely jealous of Amelia who is baring Luis Alexandro's (the man she loves)child, & makes sure their father, Fernando Elcantara (very conservative & strict)overhears that she's pregnant. Pedro, the gardener at the Elcantara residence is in love with Amelia, so when her father throws her & Pedro out of the house (thinking it's his child), Pedro just pretends it's his baby & leaves with Amelia. Amelia hates her life with Pedro. They are poor & she is miserable with him, but he loves her & raises their daughter, Luisa Fernanda, as if she were his own (& she has no idea she isn't his).

One day Luisa Fernanda & her best friend Vanessa (actually unknowingly her step cousin, as she is Consuela's step daughter) are out in the city when Luisa F. gets hit by a car. Little does she know the man who hits her is actually her biological father, Luis Alexandro. Vanessa convinces her to fake injury & sue Luis Alexandro so she can use the money to go on their senior class trip.

Hi,

Am just not happy with Pedro I see no reason why he should marry a woman that does not love him at all.

One can actually learn to love someone but in Amelia's case is so different even with the sacrifice made by Pedro she ought to have developed a little love for him. anyway that is love for u it can not be bought but if a man makes such a sacrifice for me I will learn to love he.

Well using one person should not bother us at all but lets look out what we can learn form the story.

So far the story has been very interesting.
