I want to buy a Blackberry (Curve) in the US for use in Lagos on the MTN network.
1) Is there a place where I can unlock the phone?
2) How much does this service cost?
2) Is there anything i should be aware of before purchasing the phone? a particular model number perhaps?

Why can't you try to unlock it via the US carrier? assuming you have service with one of the GSM carriers here(AT&T and Tmobile). They both give out the code upon request. As long as you have been a customer for more than 90 days. I want to buy a Blackberry (Curve) in the US for use in Lagos on the MTN network.

Yeah unfortunately, I wont be purchasing it with service. I am purchasing it from an independent seller.

Dear friend,
if you use the above mentioned methods, you need to reflash your phone to make it work again. the above method also will cost you more than you expect so far you're not a gsm technician. I will advice you to take it to a nearby gsm unlocker to do it for you at a price very conciderable and which you'll collect your phone in 5-10 mnutes.

sorry, mfi is 800mb, but dont even attempt doing your curve via mfi if its new security, i advice you to unlock via logs on i can do it for u via usb over network.
