the founder of the legion of mary is not Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montforte but Frank Duff. though i understand why it can be thought
so. the handbook of the legion is based on the marian spirituality taught by St. Louis de Montforte.

Well I love Louis Marie de Montforte - he did something special to a Leprosy man, he picked the man up in the cold, carried him on his shoulder, washed him, fed him and made him warm. Hope i dont get this story wrongly ascribed to this saint

well, Saint Nwakaibe still remains my favorite then followed by fellow saints on Nairaland. I love all the Catholics. Was one until I decided to leave. Still remember how to sing the ora pronobis that is , the litany of the saints. Oh the choir of St Patrick come for Xmas carol the other and the songs roused some good old feelings. That is the good old igbo Catholic Xmas hymns |

I was a Legionary for 3 months but I have forgotten the names of the saints.
I still remember Ss peter and Paul, Pray for us,
Saint Louis Maria de mantfort - pray for us
All you Saints of God in heaven or whatever - pray for us.
I'm finished. There is still hope.
I have not been to church for some years now.

plc group, you can get a good book of the saints, if possible saint augustine's confessions. read it and i am sure it will go a long way in bringing you back. you can also try and make mass this sunday and try your heart on confession. in this season of advent when we expect the coming of our Lord, he would love to have you back in his church once again. Mine is St. Joseph for being the father of our saviour. the guardian of the mystical body of Christ - the Church. He guards us well as he guarded the physical body of Christ while he walked the earth. I love him. We don't give him enough credit though, he is the perfect example of a father on earth. |

Thank You Lord for the lives of all these,catholics professing their faith in nairaland. My petron saint is first and fore most ,The Blessed Virgin mother,mother of sinners,the seat of wisdom,help of the afflicted, my other patron saint is St. Anthony of Padua,known for recovering missing items(OH GOD,IT REALLY WORKS). Oh I can't wait for the canonization of Blessed Mother Theressa,known for her exceptional love for the poor and the needy and of course Blessed Pope Johnpaul the 2nd.I can testify to their holy lives on earth.
Isn't this the truth. My goodness, I have lost too many things and have found them thanks to him. are you quoting someone or you have a personal experience? both. I do know some men who don't want to enter that vocation because they just don't see the austerity with them. Maybe it's here in America, things are different in America, everything is different in America. Our society is in shambles, pray for us. |
