Why Do Some Men Hate Going To Church?

Now most of yall have said it right.

Church is something that I am still trying to come to terms with. These Pastors sit in their houses from dusk till dawn, call an assembly, preach, collect your money and go back to their houses. Christianity has got nothing to do with africans. Even the isreali/jewish people that should own the religion don't even carry/practice it the way africans do. We now have churches where they wear uniforms to church (white garments/camouflage), Crusades and miracle bonanza services are held every months, and people are being psyched into giving their Pastors all their hard earned possessions with the peomise that God will give them more than they have given.
Pastors who have no jobs are now rich enough to build big universities (that their congregation cannot afford to send their kids to), buy the latest and most expensive cars (with customized license plates), Fly abroad on first class tickets when ever they fill like, run for presidency, buy properties all over (both home and abroad) e.t.c. .

And women fall prey to these things more because most of them have no jobs and are so gullible. Most are sit at home mums who use church to preoccupy themselves and gossip. Men/women who work hard for their money all week long don't have time to go sit down in a place for someone to tell them a bunch of crap that will not get them money (rather it will cost them money). Most women believe that they need a pastor to solve all their problems (physical and otherwise). If a child is sick, go to the church, If you want money, go to church (and pray for money), If you want to buy a car (pray to God), everything has a spiritual angle.
look at the percentage of workers in the churches today, compare the female:male ratio and it will explain alot. Men are too busy to be bothered by church. we rather sit back drink beer and discuss about were our next cheque will be coming from.

God said"I'm a spirit and he that knows me will worship me in spirit and in truth"
(that's my translation), he even said he's closer to us than the muscle of our neck, that means he's inside us!, so why look for him else where

May God forgive me. I have not been to church since the beginning of 2007. Even 2006 was no different. I hate going to church because these days, a lot of church goers are hypocrites. Their christianity end inside the church. For some, since they can not go to clubs where they meet members of the opposite sex, it is another avenue to socialise with brother, sister thing as disguise. There used to be this guy who, obviously was about 3 or 4 years younger than me, was always hanging around my wife running errands. She would tell me that he was a nice guy and he would address my wife as sister Y.  One day, he came around when my wife had gone out and I gave him a piece of my mind. I told him to stop hanging around my wife otherwise I was going to do something terrible to him. I let him know that I knew his game plan.  That did the magic! I have not set my eyes on him since last year.

I toshmann nwa mama, had decided to draw a strong line between christianity and religion. and after a hard critical appraisal i realised that the 2 were not the same thing. i n oticed a big difference between God and Church, as it were, and let me explain a little bit. . .

why is it that nigerians are the most religious people on earth, have the largest churches on earth, have the highest church attendances, call God's name more than any other country(even OBJ with incest case on his neck,among other cases, tony anenih, etc all call God regularly as their witness ) remember dora akunyili? after the 2007 elections were "won" she proclaimed. . . "who said there is no God" .he he heee. pastor chris oyak vs pastor chris okot    catholic vs protestants, pastors with girlfriends, rich pastors with poor congregation, mighty churches with pauperised masses.

how come with all these religiousity there is still bribing, dishonesty, envy, greed, etc among nigerians? we are so religious but we are not Godly at all. even the british who don't know God don't commit the kind of attrocities we commit. as Godless as the british may be, they will not accept even a donation from a source that is dubious. but i guess some of these our great pastors may accept money from OBJ and his cohorts and thank God for it.

as a dude, i have accessed the situation and come to one conclusion, i will try to obey the bible and go to church, but make no mistake, i don't even regard my pastor as being godly. infact, i look at him and i see a possible racist. i'm not judging him, but i listen to his sermons critically and i don't agree with everything he says. sometimes i go to church and those guys annoy me. especially when they display some apparent hipocrisy of saving africa from poverty.

men don't get carried away with religious vibrations. unlike women. but i still follow the instructions of the bible(not pastor) i go to church but i don't get blown with excessive religious activity.

Men tend to have a logical approach to things.

The things of God do not always conform to logic.

Some men cannot accept this.

So they stop going to church.

i also understand that men being men always want to be in charge of their lives and if possible every other persons life. They feel going to church will rob them of this freedom to be in charge rather they will have to turn to God for complete control of their lives.

Men please, whats so wrong with serving God? is it sin in your life that is stopping you? Remember we all are sinners. even the pastors and born again christians sin. God has not condenmed you. He wants you to come to Him and he will save you.

Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows that he will reap.

I heard someone say the other day that satan deceives people that there is still time.
What a pity. we fail to understand that the fact that we wake up in the morning everyday doesnt mean we deserve it. Its Gods grace and mercy upon our lives. Do we know what happens in the night while we are asleep?

I pray we have this reverential fear of God and live each moment as if it is our last. That way we will have a better life.

Sin is fun for a season but at the end it destroys the person.
